MBUSA re: PP -- "there was a production problem"
"All cars with PP went out with only the speed delimiter and LSD... but the alcantara steering wheel, upgraded brakes, and suspension were not put on the cars. MBUSA will be providing credits to customers on these cars. The problem is not expected to be fixed until December delivery cars".

Thanks for the info Chris, and I know that you frequent this board, so please chime in if you can.

True that. What a bunch of A$$ CLOWNS at MB / AMG. Thats like building and shipping a car all the way to the U.S. only to fine once the car gets to the dealer the steering rack is mounted on the right hand side. Way to go MB, you people are stupid!!! fro this problem to have never been seen in pre or post production shows stupidy or they just don't give a $#!T.

Frankly, if I were in the market for a C63 I'd jump at one of those for a discount. The LSD is by far the most important thing to me. Two-piece rotors with the same calipers are not a huge deal and I've been a bit leery about the PP suspension being too stiff, especially for a daily driver. Alcantara is cool as headliner, but the feel of suede in my hands makes my skin crawl.
Yep, the base C63 with a cheap LSD would be my ideal configuration. Hopefully by the time we're ready to retire the wife's C55 it will be orderable.

Probably. Just make sure to continue to post multiple responses in a row to the same thread instead of posting thoughts in 1 response...

What the hell? A credit? The orders should be canceled and refunds should be in order. That's a major mistake.
Glock on your statement: for this problem to have never been seen in pre or post production shows stupidity or they just don't give a $#!T.
I thinks it's both. Pure incompetence, MB that most assuredly does not help your QC or PR image.

I think I might just buy another RS4
I agree that LSD was the most important part of the PP. However, its just a mess in terms of credits, no equipment, some equipment, carbon fiber yes, carbon fiber no, etc. Audi is having an outright fire sale on 08 RS4s right now... $13k off MSRP...partly because of the economy, partly because the new B8 platform is soon to release. I loved that car. Not as fast as the C63 AMG, but the interior was as good or better. Quattro, rally feel, etc... I am tempted to get another one at these prices. Only problem is that I really wanted an automatic for traffic, as this will be a daily driver...

Where can we find what the PP actually includes? On my order all it shows is LSD and top-speed limit increased to 174mph. When I go to my dealer and ask for a credit, I need something that states it includes Alcantara steering wheel, upgraded brakes and suspension.

I just called MBUSA and the person that I spoke with knew nothing about this issue but said she will check into it and reply back to me tomorrow. I will let you know when I hear something.
The more people that call or send letters and emails to question this the better for everyone involved. Maybe we will see action sooner than later.
I honestly would rather just have the LSD than anything. The suspension will make the ride more firm and the alcantara will wear out. However, I am not about to pay for something that I am not getting.

Just sent Rob an email asking about what happened to all the performance things that were previously supposed to be on the car...
