Latest news bulletin, gas prices will be dropping an average of 30 cents per gallon in the next few weeks....Woo Hoo 
It took some high gas prices to get the Sunday drivers off the road, making it even safer to drive C63's around....

It was just announced a few minutes ago a barrel of oil dropping further to 120 resulting in gas price dropping, which will show up as a 30 cent drop at the pump in the coming weeks...

That's the thing about oil prices. They shoot up like a rocket and come down like a feather. On the side of gas prices, it usually takes 3-4 weeks for those results to be reflected at the pump. At this time of the year it's normal that prices begin to slowly descend back to 'more normal rates'.

even easier to just look at unleaded gas futures..trading at 2.99..and add about 50 cents to that for where 87 should be priced dependant on taxes...i love how it takes 1 day for prices to go up and 2 weeks for it to come down

The greed chain:
1) Opec Oil Cartel
2) Oil Companies
3) Traders - (Probably the worst of the lot) use every excuse ie. when somebody sneezes in the Mideast to raise the trading price)
4) The "Big" and I mean the the really "BIG" world Funds that speculate on the future price.
All of these add up to simple rape of the consumer. It's interesting how consumption in the U.S. has really dropped off which is causing the drop from $149 a barrel at its high to around $120 right now. Some of these funds have lost a lot of money. THe traders who are compensated have still made their killing and OPEC and the oil Companies are still doing OK.
But just think how great it is now that Osama Obama has changed his mind on Drilling. Do you trust this guy?
Just wait for the "Change" that is coming if this naive "Rock Star" is elected.

Great news..the bad news is all those people in the hummers/suv's/pickups/ big v8 cars that "think" they are badass and can afford them but are the biggest complainers will be back in full force.

he was one of the biggest/most successful brokers on the street
managed Billions, made millions (lots of em)
then for whatever reason, he did the show biz thing
he does (for the most part) know what hes talking about
hes been in the industry for many many years
he works in my building, i see him almost daily

PatSC23, well said - I hate his personality too. He's was very wrong on Bear (among others), and I think now he's wrong on Lehman. By the way, his hedge fund was very transparent so I'm not sure of his great success, but I do know that he did extremely well at Goldman.
