2012 CLS 63 AMG
Mine did this at 100 miles....the dealer said it was a purge leak (like the gas cap), but in the hose itself....They wanted to keep my car for a few days starting next week. I have driven this weekend another 100 miles without difficulty....

Somehow I think I should wait until I get the diff fluid changed...as long as the light doesnt come back on...

Please post the comments from your repair invoice. I am really curious to know what code did they say you had. Mine was 1085 and all they did was re-load firmware. here are the words on my invoice/repair sheet. "Found NEC to program ME control unit as per SDS guided test" etc etc. I have had mine back since Wednesday and have put on 200 miles since then and so far so good.

From the above post.... looks like it maybe a ECU problem. Go in and demand it replaced and then I would demand for reemburstment on future oil changes or brakes. Press them with the Lemon law, I've done that in the past. They'll give you what you want for time lost....

Yeah I am going to press them about that Lemon Law for sure..Wouldn't mind a CLS-63...But seriously...This is pissing me off..Here is what the service document said. Word for word...bad grammar..

"667 Broken Vacuum hose performed short test, ME fault code 0745,2091. selfadaptation of mixture formation at idle too lean for both bank cylinders, checked actual values of both MAF sensors, within spec, test fuel pressure delivery, ok checked line of purge control valves, no leaks, check all vacuum lines at rear of engine, using smoke machine to check intake system, notice smoke coming from front of engine, found broke vacuum line. Remove Engine Fan and Drive Belt...Remove and replace vacuum hose on front cover, reassembly and check adaptions, within normal range. Clear codes and road test, OK. "

OH PLEASE

Just because one car has a broken vacume line does noy imply ALL cars are worthless. Give me a break here.

See yeah

PS: The lovely employee at his dealer probably broke another one when installing it. I would say "Find another service department"

+1

Plus - check your bay to make sure everything was put back together!
The more parts an incompetent dealership removes and reinstalls, the more your chances are that they didn't put them back right.

Dude, you should have your dealer call my dealer. It's not the purge valve trust me. It's a problem with the ECU. I had to go back 3 times before they figured it out. They also replaced my purge valve, but the light kept coming on.

Tell them to call MB of Escondido, and talk to the service manager Dan. I got my car back a week ago after they replaced some part of the ECU, and everything's fine so far.

+2 This is the one complaint I had with my C32. NOTHING ever got fixed on the first try when I took it in for service. And more then once they broke something else. The sales team at my dealer is great, service dept.........not so much.

The bottom line is they will eventually get you set straight. Yeah it sucks but give it a week or two after you get your car back and you will be all smiles again

This is a great point. I get the feeling that most of the service depts. don't check a "central database" to see what is causing these types of problems. You would think the first thing they would pull up is the fact that a ECU fix took care of bigbodybeenz's problem. I remember printing out C32 fixes from this site and taking it to my service advisor so they would know exactly what was needed. It's not like they work on C63's every day so information from other dealers would seem to be critical in order to quickly and accuratly fix problems.......................

Anything W/4Wheels
i have a 08 c63 with a lil over 5700miles and havent had a problem with that cars ecu or anythis. but i did have a problem with my trany ever since i got the car with 10 miles, everytime i drove my car in sport, (driving normal) when going to afull stop i would feel a bang when the trany was downshifting from 2 to 1, i thought it was normal till i drove my friends c63 and found out i had a problem.

i will update everyone when i get my car back from service thursday, they said 1.2.3.4 gears and some seals and (clutch???) was wrong with it.

cant wait to get it back. this is by far the best car i had.

Oh dear...my CEL has just sparked into life today - will call the dealer Monday (if not open, then Tuesday). Had the car two weeks, racked up just over 500mls, and have treated it with kid-gloves.

Will let you guys know what they determine the issue to be - hopefully, it is something trivial...hopefully

Yep, mine came on last night ~1,200 miles. It was preceeded with a check gas cap warning the day before (which I forgot to do) so I'm hoping that's the cause. Will tighten the cap and see what happens today before calling the dealer
