Owned the C63 for 1 Week - CHK Engine!?
Already..this crap...Picked up the car last Monday..did normal cruising..driving and etc....Have about 500 miles on it..Check engine light comes on yesterday (Sunday)...so I'm like..WTF..drop it off at dealer today...they call me and say "Bad News"....One of the particular vacuum hoses came off one of the intakes...we need to special order the part from Germany...fastest we can get it is around Friday....
1 week owning the car, 2nd week in the dealer, 3rd week i'll be away on vacation...what a way to spend my first month's payment...

CEL at 1300 Miles
My check engine light came on yesterday as well. I will be leaving it with the dealer on Wednesday. would have been today but I needed a loaner car and Wed was the first day they had available for a loaner. Going to get engine and differential oil changed at the same time. Will let everyone know why the CEL.

I've had the same issue. Currently getting a new ecu installed in my c63

Light kept coming on. Something about the car self-testing for emissions, and not sending the right voltage to a certain part (Purge Valve) Everything else checked out ok so now I am getting a new ECU that will properly self test the emissions system.

I havn't had any issues so far with my car after 2000 mi. My brother, who just picked up his C63 about 1-1/2 weeks ago had as CEL after 50 mi. Turned out to be the cam sensor that was discussed here before.

5,000 miles and other then some oil and tires the car has been great. No motor related issues (know on wood). The weather stip on the front grill pushed out and it was replaced without question. I also had the sun roof fixed. It needed to be reprogramed.

Sounds like normal, harmless annoyances from a first model year run. I have not heard of any engine failures or anything on this car.

Just got my car back from the dealer tonight after leaving it with them for the CHK Engine Light and getting differential and engine oil changed at 1500 miles.
The error code for the CEL was 1085 which is the code for a purge leak. The tech performed a quick test and noted on pressure drop at .074 HPA however the spec is tolerated up to .157HPA, so it was well with spec. the correction was nopted as follows: Found NEC to program ME control unit as per SDS guided test, cleared codes and retested to verify the repair and system passed without any purge errors. So let's hope that will be the end of that.

I had the CEL and took it in to the dealer. The Service Manager listened to it and told me "not to worry." Sure enough, it never came back on. It was not hooked up to anything, they told me to come back to the dealer if it kept acting up for the next week. It's been perfect ever since. Best advice is to ignore it for a few days and it will likely go away. The CEL is not a serious thing, according to my dealer.

what error message did you get. I would never ignore it. The dealer NEEDS to let you know why the CEL came on for.... if your dealer only cleared the CEL without telling you what the error was then I would change dealerships ASAP.... a firmware reload was needed for mine and it was per a note regarding these engines.

They never hooked it up to check. So, no clue what "code" it was complaining about. They never touched it, aside from the Service Manager listening to the engine... I was pretty mad when I left because they were too busy to look at it. But, it never came back on again, so I forgave them.
