Some people say "C63 amg is the fastest production 4-door sedan in the world in terms of acceleration." what do you guys think of this???

One of the fastest for sure. I would say the Brabus sedans are the fastest period.

The Brabus bullit is not really a production sedan, so it doesn't count, but there are plenty of cars that are still quicker/faster than the C63 acceleration, 1/4 mile, etc....

I'm sure there is more as well, but these are just off the top of my mind.

 

Spend a few thousand to free up the potential of the 6.2L (headers, cut out CAT's, filters, airbox, and ECU tune) and you have THE FASTEST 4 DOOR PRODUCTION SEDAN... FOR YOUR MONEY.

 

Actually, for about $8k, you can easily increase hp of any E55 to about 600 hp and close to 700 ft-lbs of torque

You might want to include the '09 CTS-V on the list. (Stock to stock)

Mods will also be cheap (cam/pulley/tune) compared to the euro brands.

There is alot of fast sedans out there and yes the C63 is one of them but alas there is always someone faster...in stock form. Modding the C63 can make it an absolute beast but traction issues will mess with times but other sedan that are similar or better can be modded to. Enjoy the C63

 

A stock S65 will be faster than a stock C63, you can't argue with 738lb/ft

 

Actually you can. It's called weight.

 

A stock S65 does the quarter mile in 11.5 @ 120mph

A stock C63 does the quarter mile in 12.5 @ 113mph

S65 kerb weight, 2250Kg.. which is 328lb/ft tonne

C63 kerb weight 1730kg.. which is 255lb/ft tonne

So even taking weight into consideration, the S65 nails it

 

+1, 6.5L V12 VS 6.2L V8 & the S 65 has nearly 300lb/ft advantage.
So a little extra weight wont slow her down too much.

 

i found some resource online saying S65 amg does quarter mile in 12.5@115mph....there can not be one second that big difference....

 

Having recently driven my brother's Flying Spur I can say it does not feel as fast as my E55 from a dig

That car isn't stock. It even says it has a Renntech chip. Also, I'd find it hard to believe one could pull a 1.7s 60' time w/o drag radials...which means it isn't stock yet again. Awesome time though!
