Leasing a C63

Leasing a C63
Im seriously considering leasing the C63 (im the guy that needs to have a new car every 2-3 years), but the numbers I got from my local MB dealer seem funny.
Is anyone that is leasing a C63 willing to disclose their lease numbers in detail?
The quote I got for a two year lease was 1450/m, which seems pretty damn high for a 55k car. Thats 35k for 2 years. Lets say 5% interest that would mean at LEAST 30k depreciation over two years.
I highly doubt that the C63 loses OVER HALF of its value in two years.

55k ?????
here are the #s i got for my C63 i had on order
3 year lease, 12k miles a year
no money down, taxes in the payment
$1440 per month
THATS INSANE!!!!!
but the sticker on my build was over 72k
maybe 1450 on a 2 year isnt that bad, i dunno
i think the C63 is awesome to buy/finance, but the lease programs on it suck right now!
i just picked up a BMW 650ci last week
if i was buying or financing, i wouldve stuck it out with the AMG
but because i was lease only i passed

55k wont cut it - even w/o options your looking at a 2500 guzzler tax, sales tax, delivery fee etc. No idea where money factors are right now, but Im not sure you're going to get 5% APR on a lease with even the best credit rating. On a finance you would.
That being said, if hes quoting you 55k and 1450 per month, thats crazy. do a 30 or 36 month lease

Ya, sounds unrealistically high. I had $1280 a month quoted to me in early July on 2yr(27 month) lease on a 65k C63 with 10k miles per year. I don't have the printout with me but it was 63% residual and a money factor of .0035(~ 8.5%) and I don't think numbers changed that much. I just ran your numbers through the lease calculator at leaseguide.com and unless the residual is low 50's% it does not make sense to me.

I got a quote of $1200/month for 27mos. I turned that down, so they offered me a 'pay once' lease of a one-off payment of $35K for 27mos - I had to delicately point out that worked out as $1300 AND that I would be losing interest on that money by giving it to them in one lump sum...the salesperson was adamant that lump sum lease was a better option even when I wrote the numbers down...

MSRP was $65k - can't exactly recall the intitial money down for the monthly lease, it was small though (the total first payment I was quoted included reg/docs/gas guzzler), I think it was 1 month's payment - $1200.

sorry that quote was for 60k MSRP, and taxes paid up front. I have never leased a car, and understand you will be paying a premium to get a new car every 2-3 years, but lets say you pay 1200k for this car over 36m....thats still 43k.
43k every 3 years for a 60k car sounds ridiculous. Might as well just buy the thing and sell it on the 4rth year for 30k, which im sure is possible for a mercedes. Even if i sell it for 20k its way more worth it than leasing.
Dont know these numbers just dont seem to make sense to me, but i guess I underestimated the premium factor youll be paying for a new car ever few years.

every make, every model, has good and bad times to lease
in the C63's case, this is a ok time to buy, horrible time to lease IMHO
however, this dosnt mean leasing is bad as a whole, just that the AMG is new, in demmand, and there arnt any good programs on it yet
take the S550.....you can get a very nice one, with a MSRP of over 100k for LESS then the 70k C63.....reason is good programs and sales
also great deals on the E class....again, cuz theyre not as "in demmand" as the C63
if leasing is your only option, id either do some serious shopping around, or wait 4-6 months
my benz dealer said they might have programs after sept 2nd....but who knows

That said, those numbers seem pretty high for an C63..But "it is what it is"... If the benz dealer is selling you the car at a competitive price and not marking up the money factor.. Thats all you can ask for.. The dealer can not control anything else.

not sure your deal was anything but highway robbery but then i don't know what the underlying specifics were of your deal, etc. but suffice it to say, the 3 things that affect your total outlay, money factor, residual and initial selling price (assuming you can't get them to come seriously off of MSRP), are pretty brutal on this car.
here are the lease rates from elsewhere on this site:
2009 C63 AMG
24m-35m = 0.00365 MF
36m-51m = 0.00330 MF
Residuals for 15k miles/year
24m = 65%
30m = 59%
36m = 54%
42m = 51%
48m = 48%
Add 2% for 12k miles/year
Add 3% for 10k miles/year
edit: actually the residuals aren't bad when you compare them to an infiniti or bmw in the same class.

Yeah leasing any Mercedes except the ones MB has specials on (C-class, E-class, ML-class) is a waste due to the poor money factors and lowered residuals of between 55-57%. Just back a few years ago residuals were running 58-60% but i guess it's the pressure of rising gas prices and the push for alternative energy hybrid cars.
If you cannot afford to pay cash down i would take out a car loan and make the payments instead of leasing. You have to be careful leasing a car from the deal cuz they jack you with a lot of ridiculous fees as i have found out first hand by leasing myself. Never give a "cap cost reduction" and be careful of lease term ending "disposition fees"
I am interested in a C63 as well and i was quoted 1350 including tax for 10k per year 39 month lease.
