Kleemann Info for C63
I sent an email to Kleemann USA over the weekend to inquire about C63 performance upgardes and this what they replied:
Hello Dan-
Thank you for contacting KLEEMANN USA!
We currently have ECU programming and headers available for your C63 AMG.
ECU programming is priced at $1495.00. This upgrade has recently been shown to provide gains of 50-55 rear wheel HP- bringing C63 engine output closer to that of the SL63. The ECU must be removed from the vehicle and sent to our USA headquarters for programming. I can typically program and ship the ECU back to you the same day I receive it.
KLEEMANN is also offer a Header, down pipe and catalyst combination which will provide gains of 35 HP. When the headers are combined with ECU programming, we are seeing gains of 90 HP. Headers are priced at $3995.00.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate contacting me and thank you again for your interest in our line of tuning solutions for your Mercedes-Benz!

I would love to do this, but I'm just afraid that I will void my car's warranty for a few extra horses. Not sure if it's worth it.
I'm going to VRP next week and for $4,800 I'm getting 130 more hp. VR530, Headers, and Tune. 570 flywheel horsepower or about 470rwhp.
Will have done next Monday and Tuesday...

Also, I asked VRP before and they were unable to give me an answer at the time, but the VR530 and VR570 packages were based off the 6.2 engine producing 500 hp, not our detuned 450hp version. So are they bringing our engine back to 500 hp, THEN adding the tunes?
Appreciate any knowledge you can share.

I've been in personal contact with Vadim at VRP for about 2 months. I think my C63 is the first to get VR570 next week.
They aren't taking it to some level and then tweaking it. They have researched and understand how the C63 is limited and with the VR530 items + the headers + the tune they can do based upon what they have learned, I am told I will have 570 flywheel horsepower.
I'm sure they will start posting stuff once they complete my car...
Warranty issues are dealer specific. I have contacted the local dealer I will use and he would not comment specifically on certain mods. Renntech locally says that MB locally will stand by warranty issues on Renntech installed items. I've read about the Magnasson Moss warranty act. Dealers can fight you and make you go the legal route, but technically they cannot void any warranty unless they SPECIFICALLY can prove that your mod caused a certain problem...
Sounds like you will be the pioneer! Very excited and looking forward to the results.

No one has told me how much power the tune gives vs. how much the headers give vs. the other items (VR530). I'm guessing about 55hp on the tune, 25hp on the headers (and I'm also getting the secondary CAT's removed), and 50hp from the VR530. Ala carte, VR530 is $1,000 installed, the headers are about $2,000 (plus installation), so the tune is around $1,500 or so.

After that ill be the new costumer from this TUNER....
im tired of dealers that promess lots of GAINS, and in REAL LIFE you have a stock CAR, with no more warranty.
im looking for the tune, i just wanna to choose the BEST!

You contradict yourself in your post. You first say that you will be the customer of the tuner who can first demonstrate the real gain (you don't say how much gain) and then you want the best and no mention of price....hhhhmmmm
So everyone else will test to help you choose.... I don't think so.... where is your skin in the game then?

DYNO tests IMO DONT SHOW NOTHING....
REAL LIFE IS REAL LIFE...
IF someone that did a ECU TUNE test against other STOCK C63, and prove that this MODE really worth it. SO i will buy it...
really worth it= a difference from a roll 40mph~150mph of 2,3 cars LENGHT at MINIMUM.
got it?

If that doesn't satisfy you, then too bad. I'm not going out on the highway, finding another idiot willing to street race, potentially lose our license, and have a 3rd guy video tape our illegal activities.
Dyno = better measure of improvement than video.

I actually think some objective evidence of a real world performance gain isn't an unreasonable expectation before parting with $5,500. I'm certainly no dyno expert, but my understanding is that dyno results can be manipulated. Drag strip results showing a higher terminal velocity and/or a lower ET or video showing better roll on performance is pretty convincing evidence. The porsche tuners and enthusiasts have typically provided this kind of information. Ronald Reagan was right when he said trust but verify. My $.02 fwiw.
