They wont recall, to add this feature. Recalls are reserved for safety related items. This would simply be a convinence item. I understand you want the feature, but dont get to bothered because you have a fantastic car for the money even still.

PS I do agree with your frustration, I too wish all cars in the new model had the same features.

mthis, I have an 08 c63 amg, to get the mirror to fold in reverse you need to set it up to the view you want from your driving position, first get your mirror and seat adjusted and save in the relevant memory position.

Then for reverse view you turn on the ignition, select the nearside mirror then adjust it to see the rear wheel from your driving position, then press the M button followed by the down arrow on the mirror adjust key pad. This should store the reverse mirror position as soon as you select reverse it should go to your personal saved setting.

This works for the UK model good luck!!

After July? more like after Sept 1st... I test drove a car that was built the end of August and it did Not have the New mirrors...

Might be a regional thing. Maybe your cars will get them a bit later
Candian car should have them soon. But im willing to bet if your car was built in Sept, you will get the new mirrors.

I am a American working in Germany and I visted Adolf Hess Mercedes-Benz located in Wittlich, Germany. I was looking at the color charts and noticed that they had the latest AMG brochure in hardback. It looks like the new designed mirror is and will be on the C,SLK,SL models.......

Yup not just the C. The new E, CLK and GLK, will also get these new mirriors.

It seems like from comments on the forum that the actual build takes 5 days so how long does it take for shipping from Germany to U.S.? 10-14 days?

Besides the shape of the mirror... has anything else changed as far as the signal lamps on the mirror? it looks like there are strips going across the mirror does anyone know if the signaling lights look different?

Id say thats about right. However you gota take into account the car may need to be put on rail and also when it arrives to the docks it will sit there a few days if your lucky. When the car is in someone else's hands dont count your chickens. Especially if its a Union. They can take ther time if they want. So again concieder where you live to the port it comes to.

I just found out from the dealer that the Production date was Sept 2nd (is this considered build date?) and the car was put on the ship Sept 6th so does this mean I might have the New mirrors? looks like to me the start build was the very end of August completed on Sept 2nd..... I hope that the mirrors are the very last thing they put on the car...

I agree, I was going to say I'd be pissed if they weren't on but I don't want to jinx myself... So do you know if the New mirrors are powered? like the 2008 I can't believe they took the power-off on the 2009 and made them Manuel are they for real

I'm guessing I should be first hitting the U.S. shores by this Monday... This car should be the Sleekest of the bunch, maybe with the New mirrors. I still haven't figured out how to track it by its VIN # except for if I call the dealer.

If you don't get it with the new mirrors I am 99.9% sure that you can change them out for the new ones. Don't sweat the small ****, just think soon you will have a bad assed car sitting in front of your house.

They key is getting the power folding. Thats what i'm really looking for. I don't think you can retrofit them cheaply because there are buttons on the door to operate the folding. Would require lots of parts.

I went by the dealer today and they told me no folding mirrors for the US market?? Could be wrong. Found out my car is on the water and saw one just like it being picked up at the dealer (obsidian black with performance package). Cant wait!!

The one being picked up did not have the folding mirrors but the pp steering wheel and the composite brakes looked pretty sweet!

The build production might have beeen prior to Sept.1st. I'm still being wishful. My Prod date was Sept. 2nd will see.

Did you track your car with the above link? My ship is "TAIKO" if its the same ship then you may have the car first maybe by a couple of days....
