Does any one pics of the 08 mirrors and the 09's . Whats the difference?

 

My car is an 09 and it doesn't have the new mirrors.. I have also seen a few other 09' C63 here in Toronto and none of them have the wing mirrors.

I believe the 2010 models will have those.. considering the fact that the new GLK will be having these "wing mirrors".

 

Rumor Starter!

 

Has anyone in the US taken stateside delivery of an 09 with the new mirrors and did the power fold come back? Also, has anyone recieved a car with the new media interface yet?

 

I got my car today and it didnt come with it : <, I was also told the 2010 will have parking sensors as well!

 

Ok here is the scoope, the folding mirrors are not available in the US because we drive too fast and maybe a chance of them folding at high rate of speed when we have a M3 on our tail. (ok not so fast)

 

Somehow that does not stand up.... as in Autobahn driving is not fast!! LOL

 

Well for those that might be interested, I'm getting ready to take delivery of an 09 C63 and have already contacted Steve Krabbenborg about the foldong mirror issue. (As in lack of power folding in the US) He assures me that he can supply the needed parts to us for about 600 euros. The install reuses many of your current mirror parts. The key is that the car has to be hooked up to the Stardiagnose system and flashed for option 500 (folding mirrors) for the central gateway and instrument cluster. As per Steve, it is not an easy DIY job. Maybe we can get a bunch of us together and get a trip for Steve to come over and install these for us.

I'm the the Dallas / Ft Worth area. I know Steve does make trips stateside and usually goes to CA. If we can get a few of us together we might get him to make more stops and maybe even get a GB price on the frames.

 

Did anyone ever find the part numbers for these 2010 mirrors?

 

My '09 has the power folding mirrors. All Canadian models should have this, its listed in the standard options on the website. You sure you have an '09? If you do, I would sprint to the dealer right away.

 

Can anyone confirm if these mirrors can be retrofitted onto cars with the previous type of mirror?

 

I replaced my old mirrors with the "new type" one week ago....

 

i pick up my 2010 in Stuttgart in 3 days, and the folding mirrors was not an option. However, my car will come with the new mirrors, or i will have to kick Clause"s ***, or whomever made my car. i'll be taking video and posting it promptly that night. I couldn't get the damn 19s on it either, but my dealer got them for me.

yea i definetly want to know. i love the new mirrors but they charge so much at the stealership. maybe theres an alternative...?

 

 

I bought them from ebay 400€ .
It's plug and play but you have to replace the rubber between the mirror and the door else you have to cut the old one.... 15€ the extra cost for the two of them....

 

Here is an alternative to getting a new mirror. I painted the top side body color and just left the light bar containing the LED. Makes the mirror look smaller and sleeker.
