I guess it is a done deal, sorry for wasting everyones time. No need for the track, apparently SeeKlasse solved it all.

I'll remind you of this post after the track day.

I already did the C32 from E46 M3 thing back in the day, it was the M3 that came out several bumpers ahead, from a stop and from a roll. Heresy, I know, as apparently the C32 should win because you typed it so.
BS< I smoked EVERY E46M3 I saw in my C32..I just had a E46M3 as well and I could even tell by my butt dyno that it was slower than the rocket C32..

You are speaking on a relative level, aren't you? 1st graders vs. 2nd graders?

Personally, I've enjoyed Sticky2's humor ,...Sophisticated enough to go right over many heads.

End this *****-measuring contest and just get together somewhere for some good, clean automotive fun. In the end, who really care who wins? Is there some trophy or prize money I didn't know about?

You are telling me what I experienced first hand and got on video? We did the mbworld c32 vs. my M3 thing way back. I ran MANY c32's, let it go. The C32 always felt faster as it had more torque, your butt dyno needs calibration.

Blast from the past but, the E46 M3 vs. C32 was settled a long time ago. Welcome to 2008.

Just some good, clean, fun and maybe a beer when it is all settled and done Personally, I would like to pop a nice wine, but hey, whatever works.

I don't understand people any more these days, or some people are just taking things way too personally as if their own pride is on the line.

360 iti and gsmps... guys, there's no reason to change your opinion of a car, or whether you should buy one, based on the people fighting on the internet or who else might be driving one. C'mon. With age comes perspective, doesn't it? But that's just my opinon

STFU...I spanked M3's all day dude...
I do not care about your PROOF Video and you do not even know who I am, I make a living off of videos and have produced the best selling motorsports dvd series of all time, beating NASCAR..
I never raced the C32 in the vids but I had my day with M3's they ALWAYS lost up top..always..it was close down low.
I had many battles and races usually posted at bfc..
SO whatever...
take yer little fanboy car and go home..
I have owned both cars and the C32 was faster, the M3 was funner. and I had a Comp M3

If only you made your living as English teacher.

I'll take your word for it, because, I value your opinion.

M3's always lost on top? Weird, mine always won, even against a C32 with pulley, proof exists, and you have your text.

It was 2 C32's remember? One stock from a stop and from a roll and 1 modded from a stop and from a roll.

Like I said, it is 2008, time for a C63.

only saw the vid of the one that was stock.

I ran my friend's e36 M3 that was modded putting down around 230rwhp when i just had the pulley done. we tied, but that was with a broken intercooler pump also ran another friend's 05 C55 after the intercooler pump was fixed and won by half a car at 90mph.

The latest Car & Driver did a track test at VIR and the dct M3 only beat the c63 by 9/10's of a second and that was on a 4.2 mile road course. I don't think the C63 in that test had the performance package which might have even put the C63 ahead. On a road course it will come down to the driver as to which car will come out on top. As for the ISF, it was 7.5 seconds slower than the C63!

That was a great article and made me happy to see the C63 do so well against so many great "track" cars. I've never been to VIR but it definitely sounds like a "Horsepower" track. C63 beats Elise SC and Evo X. Who woulda thought?!

I have raced at VIR a number of times and it is definitely a horsepower track but a car has also got to have good high speed stability to do well.

The M3 still had the previous DCT software that would not downshift when going hard enough on the brakes to kick in ABS.

In the Motor Trend handling test the DCT M3 was 4/10's off the 997turbo at Laguna Seca. The M3 also finished in the top 3 overall.

did they have different writer/driver behind each car again?

honestly after started watching Top Gear and Fifth Gear I never bother to read any comparison test from American magazines anymore. The test drivers are all fat and useless when it comes to pushing to the limit unless they had a guest racing driver of some sort.

I had a good laugh when I was reading the new Motor Trend on the Dodge Challenger. high praise from Motor Trend saying that interior is nice blah blah blah. where the fat guy Tom from Fifth Gear said the interior was a let down.

The newest evo also has M3 manual vs c63 on track
They also tested the E55 a while ago

M3 west circuit: 1.26.2
C63 1.28.8
e55?
Just saw that c63 had a little slower acceleration times than the e55, but havent had time to look at it more closely:
c63 m3 e55
0-60 4.7 4.9 4.8
0-120 14.4 15.3 14.1
1/4 12.9 13.2 13.1
113.8 111.4 115

Exactly. Anyone who knows ANYTHING about motorsports, streetracing or vids knows that it's a drivers race. Sticky even posted a reply to a mag stat and called bs on the magazine. True bench racers cling to what is written, but streetracers know vids are NOT PROOF. They are debatable always and sticky is such a loser he has to resort to troll status of pointing out spelling and grammar. Got nothing else sticky?Clearly you suffer from a huge case of small mans complex. Just the nature of this thread screams you were beaten as a child. I'm sorry for you. Go to the ricer forums maybe someone will race you and your worlds fastest car.
You wanna race a real mans car like an E55? Why don't you come in our forum where the big boys hang out and quit picking on the guys up here.
ps when I rolled on the basic stock to stock m3s I used my stock 17's..worked like a charm on the riced out M's
Edit.
Both are great cars. I have purchased both and been lucky enough to do so.
The C32 is faster in a straight line and the E46M is faster on a track.
It is probably the same with the new cars.
GO to a track and race, that is what I do now and guess what.
I am building a real M track car.
An E-36 M

The M3 is a great handling car but it is not that much better than a c63 especially on a "horsepower" track. The difference will come down to the driver.

Thanks for setting me straight. I appreciate your valuable contribution. It is blind contributions like yours on things you haven't even seen that truly make a forum a valuable source of information.

Anyway, still looking for a C63 to make it to the track.

It usually does come down to the driver. People spend a lot of time arguing a tenth here or there they forget the cars are usually on a higher level than ability to begin with.
