Andy, will your V2 tune works fine with your future headers and exhaust? Are you planning on doing a V3 for optimal power gains with Headers-exhaust?

Thanks. Lou
Thanks Lou. I'll hit the dyno asap either tomorrow or Tues depending on when my replacement yaw sensor comes in (btw guys, evidently the C63 yaw sensors don't like the underbody wash jets at car washes).
v2 tuning will work with and without headers/exhaust/CAIs. Obviously we'll make the necessary changes to the tune to accomodate those mods (A/F changes mostly) but the nomenclature will still technically be v2 even though every tune that we cut is 100% custom calibrated to the exact vehicle and modifications in question.
v3 will debut on my car at MIR and will feature 10/10 shift firmness (v1 had 6/10, v2 has 8/10) and 7400rpm shift points in sport mode as well as manual. v2 has 7400rpm shift points in manual only whereas sport/comfort still retain the stock limit.
v3 pricing will be slightly higher than v2 due to the increased amount of time/labor it takes to complete said changes. Again though we expect most customers to choose v2 as it's a great overall package.

No! I think that was my biggest issue with the sole pass I made with v1 tuning, I overshot the converter. Testing v2 on the 10th I just stomped the gas from a dig, no powerbraking whatsoever this time, which seemed to work pretty well. The sad thing is I still only have 5 total passes on the car since being tuned and putting DRs on. 2 passes with v1/Nittos (one botched due to ESP), and 3 with v2/MTs.
I need more seat time, unfortunately the tracks are hella crowded this time of year.

couple questions

how can you completely customize the map when we just ship you an ECU?

do we tell you what mods we have and then you can figure it out that way?

when you say 8/10 firmness what is stock?

is either TCU / ECU detecatable from MB ?

I assume no CEL light is included in the package?

is there anyway to have a limp mode added? I read this in the w204 somewhere and someone brought up a good idea for valeting, or when friends need to move my car etc

Is there anyway for MB to tell if an ECU has been removed (a seal sticker or something?) - (I havent looked for my ECU yet. )

side note - if something did happen (engine / tranny etc problems), and we flash the ecu back to stock would MB be able to figure it out?

okay, a couple more than a couple questions

We have every cars base cal on file and adjust accordingly based on our 35+ years of combined tuning experience of all makes from Bentley's to Ford GTs. You send us a complete mod list, the altitude that you drive at most often, and the octane of fuel that you use, and we do the rest.

We rate stock at 2-3.

is either TCU / ECU detecatable from MB ?
No, not unless they read the code, which isn't going to happen anytime soon.

You will NEVER have a CEL/MIL from one of our tunes. Ever.

Interesting idea. Let me see what we can do about it.

Is there anyway for MB to tell if an ECU has been removed (a seal sticker or something?) - (I havent looked for my ECU yet. )
Absolutely not, it's a 30 second job to install/remove a ECU and ours don't look any different than stock.

Absolutely not.

If you have any other questions fire away.

Thanks
Andy

Andy you mentioned you could get OEM ECU's for programing. What is the cost of a new OEM C63 ECU from the dealer?

Troy,
My cost is $1250, list is over $1550. They went up since the last time I bought one (just snagged another for a customer last week) which was a few weeks ago.

Thanks

I purchase it for you (or you buy one from your dealer) then have them VIN code it for your car (you need the car and a StarMo to do that) then ship one of your two stock ECUs to us. We flash it, and ship it back.
The removal process literally takes less than 2 minutes.

Thanks
Andy

Yep, she's spending the night at the dealer (dropped her off this morning) and I'm stuck with a 300C 4matic that couldn't get out of its own way to save its life. Since they need to pull the battery cable off I need to rack up more miles before getting an accurate dyno. Now looking at Thursday, basically giving me 1.5 days to drive it around.

So did you leave your tuned ECU in the car for the dealer visit or install another stock ECU ? Just curious....

Left it in. They love the DRs too.

SO what can be accomplished on the stock tires? this is one of the issues I have, the tranny seems to soften up the 30mph boot ****- is that the TQ convertor? and i assume thats solved by ur Tuning?

Ultimately that depends on the driver (stock tires). Because we've had limited seat time due to overly crowded test and tune nights at the strip I've only run with DRs so I could net more consistent results. I know a few C63 owners on here have cut 1.9X 60's on the stock tires, meaning it's possible to run as quick or quicker with the tune, but you will have to relearn how to launch the car.
Yes, any kind of sluggishness or TM coming into play at/near redline, or during a shift is TCM related and cannot be solved with a ECU only tune.

Thanks
Andy

2 Stage I packages for C63s down, 3 to go at the reduced price:

Pricing for v2 ECU/TCU tuning for C63s is $4000. For a full Stage I package (+ filters, thermalnators) $4250 including shipping.
The first five customers to purchase v2 tuning for their C63 receive a $500 discount, making for a total of $3500 for complete driveline tuning. Add $250 for thermalnators/filters.

Anyway, I'll honor the price for you Barry, and for anyone in Canada that has inquired since I posted it.

From now on when using foreign currency it will have to be at an equivalent exchange rate.

I would love to take advantage of your more than generous offer but my car is still on the water. Just left Southampton England and will not be in Halifax for another week. Then another week 10 days to get to me. It may be November before I could "Rip and ship"

NP Barry, I'll extend the price for you as I said before.

v2 Dyno results. Unfortunately the guy that works the computers at the DJ I use wasn't in today so I had them scan the graph in until they email me the winpep file tomorrow (at which time I can post vs. stock and vs. v1 tuning on the same graph). 5th gear (1:1) SAE correction, smoothing set at 5 to eliminate artificial spikes:
