[Feeler] c63 Eyelid LEDs
#51
You need 2 pairs to complete the license plate and eye lids.
I guess it is around 240+30 shipped to your place from JP.
It is pluy and play just like change bulbs. No error
I am not getting money on this one, so i can't no guarantee tho.
But all the info said that the brex one with no error. There are some Audis and BMWs installed it already, and they have no error. You can search BREX STICK TYPE A. You will find some blogs from JP. People installed it.

So, in the end of this conversation. I need the lights for my license plate and I need lights for BOTH of my headlights lines! Please can anyone tell me exactly how much I need to pay, to whom, and when can I get my lights. Will the be plug n play? and no error messages? If so please PM me and we can do this!! I am located in Stoughton, MA 02072 now.

Cuz... they still throw out error...
If not, every one is selling already... no one will buy BREX's plug and play LED...

So I still must be missing the point. You can buy 10 emitter sets for less than $10 usd, and single emitter sets for something under a $1. Why would spending $200 be a good idea?!
Even if you buy without resistor packs, this is like a $40 usd project tops, unless these are some unheard of, unavailable LED's...

As I said before, if you are happy to buy $1 usd worth of parts because it's "supposed" to work for $200, go for it - it's awesome marketing.

I guess so... Just like those Hamann and ACS product.. or Brabus...
The cost of the Kit doesnt really expensive...but the brand is... and the cusumer tends to trust those brand name product... You can see the replica stuff with better marterial and cost less, but ppl still buy the real one...
You can see the point here...Market is like that... It is not only about the cost of that material only... if so everything will be cheap around us... and BENZ wont be more expensive compare to Lexus...

Ricky, I'm not trying to sell them - all I'm saying is that paying $200 for a set of LED's is expensive, considering you can find them all over the place for $5, and add a $.99 resistor and avoid the "bulb out" warning. It's not magic, it's basic electronics.

UK the whole purpose of these lights with the built in cancelers are buying them built and ready for just plug and play with no other worries. I see where you're coming from but just about none of us will be duplicating the lights. If you know how or know anyone who can please let us know. In the mean time we dont have many options. So no one has actually replicated these built in canceler lights and is why they cost a lot.
Heat will not be a factor. This is part of the reason why they are so expensive.

As I said, I'm all for getting LED's without errors, but I didn't - and wouldn't - pay $200 to do it.

I am a EE. I could look at this and see if there is simpler
system solution and less costly.
If someone could point me in the right direction for
sourcing the HID LEDs I would appreciate it..
If its not a simple solution then I could see where
you might get into a couple hundred bucks for
a plug and play lighting system. But I agree
we use LEDs on a lot of the stuff we build
here is pretty cheap but they arent HID
LEDS

The issue that everyone is trying to solve is how to fool the car such that the low wattage of an LED does not cause it to think "bulb out". On the older C's and SLK's, this was about 2.5 watts. On my LED projects, I would stick a 2.5w 33ohm resistor in parallel with the LED. Not perfect, but it works, just gotta dissipate a couple w's worth of heat somewhere it won't melt anything.
If you look at the pictures posted, looks like someone is using SMD resistors to achieve the same thing. If this thing actually works, then either the new C's are detecting bulb blown at a much lower threshold, or that puppy is going to get really, really hot. (I know you can get 5w SMD thick or thin film, high temp resistors - I'd just be worried about trying to dissipate that much heat that close to the LED - see the photo's in post #37)
If you are bored, pop out to your car and see if you can figure out exactly what load it's looking for before it decides your bulb is burned out..

Yea I said it is plug and play without error already... and it is a reason why they are expensive too...
I know that u can add a resistor to avoid error, but ppl don't want to do with that. My point is that it is new and it may be the only choice that is plug and play. therefore, it is expensive... And things worth their value as there is buyers.
So if anyone want the brex one then find me. i am willing to help.
I think there will be cheaper one when China is able to copy the technology.
Wait or pay, your choice.

No problems Paul - if you want to play w/out waiting for free samples from the manufactures, you can pick them up at http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/automotiv...c-101_129.html - or at least find the models you like and then locate a US vendor.

Yea it shouldnt be too hard maybe a littl Resistor capacitor safety circuit and the LEDS. The only think I dont know is the technology behind these new technology LEDs and their power requirements. Might throw in a Diode to give further protection.
Let me look at it at work on Tues. I have to appear in court tomorrow and could be busy (My son likes to go over the speed limit)

I was told Nov. 10th for the next batch, just to let you know i am speaking of the non mercedes brand but thru a different distributor in japan (200+ shipping) so if no one makes progress to duplicating these by then or finding a better alternative then i can get atleast 5 pairs (4 LEDs as one pair). So if you're serious then let me know. This is not a group buy but just a list to be notified.

5.
ect.
Go from there. i'll try and see if i can get more pairs. They do our interior lights as well so i will let you guys know how they are as i ordered:
- front dome = 2 LEDs
- rear dome = 1 LEDs
- rear reading = 2 LEDs
- License plate = 2 LEDs
- Visor = 2 LEDs
