Looking for a new toy.
An amazing event - wonderfully organized and run by the friendliest bunch of people you'd ever like to meet! They left no stone unturned when it came to making sure everyone had a great time - from the hotel, to the great dinners, to a full day of flat out driving every AMG 63 available to the Canadian market, and other than airfare, all gratis courtesy of MB Canada! They said this was a pilot project event, and any future repeats would depend on feedback they received Dallas. Well I don't think there'll be anything but heaps of praise from the lucky few able to participate this time round.

A vid of a couple laps where the instructors took us on in ones and twos for a final blast around the track at "full speed". My apologies in advance for the poor vid quality as I was simply trying to hang on...in a C63 of course

I tried to post pictures on the facebook site, but did not like the result:
- resolution is shrinked too much: 604x403, you cannot see a car and a driver in it at the same time,
- 60 pictures per album only,
- cannot share albom in the AMG section as a fan, only by individual pictures. If everyone post there, it will not be managable.
On the picasa web site resolution is 1600x1071

In the C63 on the "payback" lap, we were hitting close to 190km/hr at the end of the longer straight. Not sure what speed I hit myself in various cars as I was too busy trying to look "two cones ahead" ... but I'm sure it was no where near that 190

A response from me has been long overdue but better late then never. Yesterday as I was looking at my shops productivity while I was out of town the 20% drop wasn't too much of a concern because my mind was still thinking about the symphony I got to enjoy a week before in the SL63.
Nick, Vincent and Danny it was a pleasure to meet each of you, share some laps and cocktails. If you are ever in the Calgary area it would be great to share a few beers and talk cars
My bank account is very lucky there is such a long wait to get a C63 with LSD, what an amazing car for the money. Throw in those goodies Nick mentioned (Chip to retune and exhaust) and you may as well lean way back in that seat and get ready for blast off
Memorable moments:
-Hitting the throttle in the SL63 only to see Nicks smile turn into a U in the car behind me
-If the roll bar wasn't already up when I got into an SL63 I would have bet money it would be up within 90 seconds of me hitting the gas pedal. Did anyone use racestart in the SL or switch it to S+ traction control instead of just S?
-Dannie offering Nick a drink at least a dozen times before he eventually gave up

Hey chris, i think you meant Todd as being the big pusher of drinks on the last night, you see the night before i gave in to only pay for it the next morning as we were doing the slalom and brake test, almost yakked! I did try the race start on the SL63 only to be told by Jack that its not a good idea, i also did one on the C63 with Rob behind me fist pumping and clapping as i launched with tire smoke in the air. And of course, hearing chris revving the SL63 with authority made me howl! what a crazy sounding car.

I did try the S+ mode on the SL 63! That was great, and I did have a lot of fun with that car! But I didn't have a chance to try the RS! HOw was that Nick? Was that a good start? HahHA!!
