HUH? no diff service on 09's without PP?
Just hung up the phone with the dealership - was told that 09's no longer have a first service at 2500. What gives? Anyone have details?
They now do a first diff service with the first flex service indicator which is around 10k. Seems nuts to me.
Please advise, I don't want to grunge my pumpkin.
Later.

If your car doesn't have the LSD then you don't need to change the diff fluid.
The complimentary service for cars between 1000-3000 miles is only an inspection, it doesn't really include any servicing (unless you have the AMG LSD, then they are supposed to change the fluid)
If you don't have the Performance Package then just get your oil changed now

I just changed my LSD diff, I have the "PP lite". Paid for it, nowhere on my car or manual does it say that MB will pay for it. I spoke to MBUSA specifically about the diff service at 2000 miles per manual and they also confirmed any services scheduled or not are to be paid for by customer.

Confirmed the same with my dealer. My car goes in Friday for the diff oil change. They properly quoted me the Castrol oil and part number, said it was about $16.50/btl and we need to buy 3 bottles, + 0.5 hr labor =$120 USD.

Should be no cost.

I'm sure this is at the dealers discretion, I don't know if it's written anywhere that it's included but anything in which is needed or replaced during the first check-up is usually covered.
