Destroyed: Lexus ISF and '07 911 Carrera
On the way to a little get together with some friends around Cbus today (LP640, Gallardo, E63, E55, Viper, C6 Z06, 911 Carrera) I ran into a white ISF on the highway. I've been dying for a race and have wanted to run an ISF since the day I picked up my C63 so I was determined to get it on. We ended up running twice, the first time from 70-120 (my car), the beatdown was so bad I wasn't sure he was racing. After about 2 minutes of cruising 100 ft behind me I see him tag it and attempt a ricer fly-by...LOL...I stomped it when he was 20-30ft behind and instantly stopped his pull and proceeded to put 3-4 lengths on him before shutting down--sorry no idea on speed on that run. The Lexus driver's face was simply priceless--as in he must live and die in the world of magazine tests LOL. Anyway, my accessment is they are pig slow.
On the way home my buddy James and I ran several times on the highway and from digs and the results weren't much if any different than those of the ISF races. Absolute carnage. His 07 911 has a full Tech Art exhaust including headers and cat bypass, as well as a drop in filter (6 spd M).
We're tuning his car next week, though even then I doubt it has a shot at the C63.

I test drove an M5 first... was sorta underwhelmed and didn't like the lack of simplicity and "fidgety-ness" of the car/user interface. I test drove an IS-F and thought, wow, nice car, smooth, very powerful. Last, I test drove a C63... there was just no comparison.

Todd,
We're trying to decide on our next project car and presently have it narrowed down to a M5, CL65, or E55. The only one I haven't yet driven in one form (stock/modded) or the other is the M5. I know they suck from a dig but I like what they can do when they get moving. I def. need to drive the M5 before making a final decision. Not going to bother with an IS-F.

I dumped some race gas in for the first time after I got home from my saturday drive, should be at ~98 octane. After about 10 miles it "felt" stronger. I'll dyno on Monday (98 octane v2 ECU/TCU) and also test the cutouts. Bottom end definitely suffers with the cut-outs but they may show a gain in top end. If the latter case was true it would be optimal to launch with them shut and open them at the top of first gear.
We're also hoping to get our UD Pulley on in time. The first batch of ten should be done in 30 days or less.
I'll do a seperate dyno for that as well.
