C63 Sound System Question
So our C63's have a Harmon/Kardon LOGIC7 sound system, and can play 5.1 DTS or Dolby audio tracks. What I'm wondering... is there a 5.1 or 7.1 channel amp in the car to drive front/rear left/right center channels discretely? And wouldn't that sort of complicate things if you just wanted to drop a nice 2-channel amp in the car for a sound upgrade? Seems like to take full advantage of LOGIC7 on 2-channel sources, or DTS or Dolby sources, you'd need 5.1 (6) or 7.1 (8) channels of amplification. I don't know if it's a 7.1 or 5.1 system in the C63... or is it just some glorified 2-channel "SRS Wow" setup? Maybe I'm overthinking things a bit?

Trust me, you WONT mess with the factory sound system. the car build Based on PERFORMANCE, if you REALLY an Audiophile (for car), get the new Honda Jazz, it got THE BEST FLAT dashboard! so you can put 3 way in front easily.

thanks for the responses.
BUT... at the very least, a nice tight 12" sub tastefully installed and integrated helps any factory sound system.
The Harmon/Kardon system, though, does sound better than the BMWs I test drove or the IS-F. I have always been a fan of "LOGIC7" surround in all the Harmon/Kardon surround sound receivers/amps, and it was nice to see this in a car... done well!

Yes, it really is great! I got the HK upgrade in my E46 M3 and it was quite disappointing. I actually ended up installing 2 JL audio 10s in the trunk with a BavarianSoundWerks box and it really helped a lot. The C63 IMO has just the right amount of bass unless you want to be one of those guys thumping the neighborhood. The bass is great, and good enough to feel quite nicely without supplemental subs, and all around the sound is very crisp and clear. Surround sound with movies is amazing! Especially in loud thunderous scenes like plane crashes or huge battles.... ie, major scenes. It's really is fantastic.

the stereo in the AMG is miles better than the sound system Plus in my $140k GT3. I have a really NICE stereo in the BMW X5 4.8is with 13 speakers a bass and a couple amps, and the AMG is just as good. I was surprised how good the HK was.
I listen to alot of music on the music register and its just very good. I listen to FOX news on Sirius and they play a sythesizer music on the way to a commercial and it sounds REALLY cool. But in both cars it sounds Really good.
I had a mark levison in my wifes GS300 and it was NOT as good as the AMG.
Feel free to think that though.

I agree the HK sound is above par from systems I've heard in the past. When test driving the 2008 M3, it had the upgraded sound system which wasn't even close to what the AMG HK sound system... Now thinking back, I didn't like anything the M3 had to offer,,,lol

I think the HK system in my c63 sounds like crap.
However, the HK stereo in my 04 Range Rover sounds much better than my 09 c63, very weird.
Once you hear JL amp/sub + MB quartz speakers, you wont like any of factory stereo systems.

Just FYI it's MB Quart, not MB Quartz. And I agree, no stock stereo sounds even remotely close. I have MB Quart Q's front/rear, Diamond subs, and JL amps in my RS4. Outstanding sound.
But, I must admit, the HK system in the C63 does sound good for stock, and better than the Bose sounded in the RS4.

for Q's.I used to compete in Iasca with ALL MB Quart. Q series separates, Q series amps, and Premium subs. I miss that system.
