Team MHP MIR Track Results
World’s Quickest/Fastest C63, Third Quickest/Fastest N/A 63 AMG
We ended up running 11.595@119.75 on a 1.75 60’ with MHP Stage I + Kit consisting of:
1) MHP v2 ECU/TCU Tuning (same cal as we’ve been running, v3 will debut with headers and UD pulley)
2) MHP Thermal Intake Gaskets
3) MHP 180F T-stat (New to this event)
4) MHP Carbon Fiber Air boxes and high flow Foam/Oil Filters (New to this event)
5) Mickey Thompson 265/40/18” Drag Radials on stock wheels
![](http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r206/Fourcam330/0002-32.jpg)
Previously without the CF Air Boxes and T-stat we ran a best of 12.02@118.18 actual/11.94@118.99 corrected and 12.02@118.78 actual/11.97@119.31 corrected at Norwalk Raceway Park breaking our Stage 1/v1 Overall and N/A C63 record of 12.19@116.5 actual/12.09@117.3 corrected.
Jrcart’s CLK BS 63: World’s Quickest/Fastest Overall 63 AMG, and Power Adder 63 w/ 75 shot
What a friggin MONSTER. Jim’s car had traction issues past the 1000ft mark both N/A on Corsa’s and on spray with 17” ET Streets (essentially a true slick) and the track was biting HARD. We v2 ECU/TCU tuned Jim’s Black Series (wait until he posts dyno #s
) with Evosport UD pulley, Evosport full exhaust, CF Boxes, and MHP Thermal Intake Gaskets.
Jim ended up running 11.19@127.01 on a 1.66 short time with 75 shot with too much octane, hotlapping, and having to get out of the throttle at the big end due to lack of traction. In short his car will easily run into the 10s in it’s present state with just a 75 shot. We’re going to play with the nitrous setup and with 125 shot I think we’ll see him dip below 10.7s in the next 1.5 mos in TX.
While Jim didn’t run his best ever N/A performance due to various issues (including a bit of a late arrival due to a monster hangover—though he’ll probably tell you it was worth it
—and using the wrong wheel/tire combo) his car still ran well.
The problem with Jim’s car presently is that N/A there’s simply too much power to put to the ground without 315/35/18” MT DRs (which he did not have). The stock Corsa’s though a R compound tire were no match for the HP/TQ on tap and the 17” ET Streets were too grippy causing him to bog out of the hole.
Long story short we’re nearing the point of diminishing returns with Jim’s car as far as adding power in a CLK BS goes (a car built for an open track, not the strip). The suspension is far too firm for a solid launch (drag racing is 90% about the launch), stall converter speed is too low, rear end gearing is too low, etc. We can remedy these issues and EASILY run 10s N/A (after watching the car all day I can say that with absolute certainty) but the car will essentially lose it’s soul, and no one wants to see that happen.
Jim’s previous best was 11.2@124 on spray with the only difference being our v2 ECU/TCU tuning vs. the prior ECU only tune.
JT55s CLK BS 63: World’s Quickest/Fastest N/A 63 AMG
John’s gorgeous CLK BS built by Bruce @ TTM tore it up with our v2 ECU/TCU tuning, MHP Thermal Gaskets, Evosport UD pulley, CF Air Boxes, and Evosport full exhaust. Running 11.66@120+ on 20” wheels/tires with a 1.90 60’ then 11.46@122+ (New N/A 63 AMG Record) on 265/40/18” MT DRs; optimally he’d also need 315/35/18 MT DRs on 10” rims, he used my 8.5” rims on Sat. John was hotlapping the living **** out of his car (as was Jim) so I don’t see 11.2s being out of the question with more seat time, the right wheel/tire, and a cold motor).
It should be noted that this was John’s first time ever at the strip with his ~1000 mile Black Series. Huge congrats for running the number with such little seat time and no cooldown!
MarkoCL65s ’06 CL65: World’s Quickest/Fastest 65 AMG
Finally Marko’s land yacht shattered (yet again) his own CL65 record going an astonishing 10.72@130.76. I had the pleasure of riding the in back seat of Marko’s CL65 on Friday night after killing a few bottles of Kettle with Jim, Rich, Marko, Martin and the two girls sitting on our laps. With 7 people in the car (~1400lbs of driver/passengers) Marko repeatedly pinned us back in the seats, with enough force (honestly it felt like my C63 during a 90% stop, just in the other direction, it was unnatural to say the least) to make me think twice about picking up a M5/M6. There is something to be said for displacement + twin turbos. Marko also happens to be one of the nicest and most knowledgeable racers I’ve met to date, and along with his friend Martin deserve all the credit in the world for pushing the MB/AMG TT V12 envelope.
Craig Brinster’s 100% stock save Drag Radials 08 CL600 ran repeated 11.80s@120 on both 265 and 305 DRs. We look forward to seeing dyno/track results from him in the very near future with MHP ECU/TCU Tuning.
Props to Jay for running a 11.1 with no posi, Ahmad for nearly running 10s in his CLK 55, and Jeff Miller for bettering his previous best by .1 and 2mph with our TCU only tuning. Jeff will have a complete (v2 ECU/TCU) MHP driveline tune by midweek at latest.
Tom, it was also nice meeting you and again I apologize for not being more available to talk at the track.
To everyone that lives in MD, you are some lucky people! Great facility, wonderful staff, and one hell of a track. I’ll gladly make the 420 mile drive to race there again.
Finally a HUGE thanks to my head tuner Dave Kasper for kicking out some badass calibrations. Great job Dave, keep up the good work!!!
Thanks
Andy

DA was definitely negative, I can't correct anyone's ETs because the NHRA's official site www.smokemup.com is apparently down?

I think the C63 surprised some people.

Marko (CL65) has a custom intake/intercooler setup and a ECU Tune as well as DRs.
Ahmad (CLK55) has a Kleeman supercharger, ECU tune, and quite a few more mods I believe. You'd have to ask him for a full mod list.
Thanks

MBWorld Fanatic!
10.7 on a car thats nearly stock...just air, ecu and rubber...that is just sick. Absolutely sick.
The 11.5 is nasty too man, looks like you guys are no joke. Is it easy to reflash the ECU back to stock for warranty purposes?

Yes your ECU can be reflashed to stock by a dealer or us.
Thanks
