I personally like the looks of both the new CTS-V and the C-63 and was just looking for feedback from some C63 owners who might have considered both.

and if u think there is no comparison between the two cars, please elaborate....Im all ears. I dont own either of the cars so im actually unbias toward both.
Well I guess I'm in the same situation as you, if a little bit further along in the decision process in that I have ordered a C63. But the new CTS-V was, and is, a VERY tempting alternative, and I also agree with you in that I could give a rat's *** what anyone else thinks of the whole "Caddy" image - too many identify a little too closely with their rides for some reason *L*. The power and perfomance above all else is what almost hooked me to take the CTS-V route, but when I stood back and factored in some other facets of both cars, I decided to pass.

Things I liked about the Caddy: again that whole performance aspect of the car; it's interior (CTS in general is nicer than the C class there IMO, especially materials); Cadillac includes all scheduled maintenance free of charge for the full warranty period.

Things I didn't like: size - now the C63 is no lightweight, but it's smaller size does suit my own perferences better; price - similarily equipped, the CTS-V I spec'd out came to about $8G more than the C63 I've ordered (this is for Canadian market models it should be noted); and the real deal breaker for me - the whole mess GM is in and what it's future, if any, may be.

It didn't hurt either that I recently got to extensively drive the C63 in a track environment at an AMG Challenge event, where I absolutely feel in love with the car - from it's power to it's handling and even it wonderfully tuned exhaust note. That clinched it!

Good luck with your own decision, you really can't go wrong either way.

uhhh... I want to believe what you said cuz i drive a c63.
CTS-V's brakes are from the ZO6. Suspension, engine and trans are from the ZR-1. The downside is it weighs 4200lbs.
C63 vs CTS-V performance wise, good luck

I couldn't really have ever lived it down.
Where did you drive the new CTS-V?
The only test drive event so far was in Monticello.

Wrong again. If it was simply a "drivers' race then you AMG owners would win every time because nobody drives caddy's except 70 year old cougars going to play shuffleboard.....no match at all!

The new CTS-V could sneeze and run a 12 flat (see below):

http://cadillacenthusiastmagazine.co...-seconds-flat/

And with a trap speed at 118 mph....the difference between that and the C63's trap speed is the same as the difference between a Dodge Challenger and the C63. In other words it's in a different league.

Just like the mighty Z06 and it's 10.8 second 1/4 mile times with nothing more than drag radials, the CTS-V is running mid 11's with the same setup. The numbers don't lie!

Front brakes on an 09 CTS-V (with the track brake package) are 15" vs C63's 14.2", rears are 14.7" vs 13", but the C has a 500lb weight advantage. Both are 6 piston front and 4 piston rear. I haven't seen numbers for stopping distance of both cars to really say who's the winner. I agree the CTS-V's suspension setup is probably a little tighter than the C, but again with the weight advantage you have to wonder. Also the CTS will probably pull a lot harder in the top end due to the massive hp advantage, there's no way around that, but after considering everything I still say they are close. Most drivers don't have the ability to approach their car's limits anyway so it's really a moot point unless you're looking for bragging rights.

edit: apparently the 3.9s 0-60 and 12 second 1/4 is just a claim from Cadillac. No one has reproduced it yet.

And cadillac still claims a 12.0? I trust that as much as I trust a GT-R transmission.

What is normal conditions? You purchase a car, you go to the strip and you lay down a 12 flat! That might seem "abnormal" to you, but not to me.

And who are "they" when referring to the 12.3-12.5? Let me guess, you're a big "automagazine" review guy? LOL

With this incredulous logic, the one time fastest 1/4 mile pass for your beloved C63 was a blistering 12.3 thus resulting in (according to your remedial math) 12.6-12.8 second passes by "they" in "real world tests"!

Fair enough, so why don't you provide proof of a better 1/4 mile pass for a stock C63 that is better than 12.31?

I'll wait........

Thanks, for your camparison guys. It makes me think about things that I havent otherwise thought of. I think we will know a little bit more about the "real world" performance once its actually on the streets. Either way, like someone else said...I dont think either one would be a bad decision.

I guess we differ on what's considered in the same league. I've found everything from 12.3-12.8s for the 09 CTS-V and 12.3-12.8 for stock C63s.

(the first 3 are MHP tune and the 4th is with DR)

AMG C63
Okix outside of my comical diatribe one other thing is the caddilac have HUGE depreciation. Also with that big motor it could shake the car apart faster than it would any ways

BTW 8 SPeed the AMG tops out at 174 faster than even your car
And I dont beleive your drag strip tape either. You have done nothing to prove your truthful.
Car and Driver has the AMG 0-60 time at 3.8 seconds and the
Toyota time at 4.4. Thats more than half a second. If you went a 1/4 with
a AMG the AMG would have to wait at the 1/8 mile for you to catch up.
Road and Track who I do trust ran the C63 at 12.5
the corolla came in at 12.6 AGAIN slower than the AMG
Give it up man you have a slow ugly pig

i dont think a IS-F is a "slow ugly pig" even though I dont like the styling of this car. btw, why is an is-f owner here in a MB board makes posts taunting c63 owners? Are you trying to prove something? What do you expect us to say about your car? That we made a bad decision by getting a C63 instead of IS-f?

AMG cars have excellent resale values. Hardly any depreciation, and they often appreciate in value.

Why, I am not breaking any forum rules. I have every right to be in here. Is this what you guys do to outsiders......insult them constantly and when they still show up and you can't come up with anymore original material like "fake exhaust tips", "toyota corolla" ....your only recourse is to recommend that someone ban me?

Quiters!
