pagani Zonda F has AMG power
I was just watching This weeks Top Gear Episode and they feature
a Pagani Zonda F roadster. I find it curious of all the engines they could
choose for their million dollar roadser is AMG power. The very sister motors to our cars. Kinda gives you a warm fuzzy doesnt it.

Pagani has always used AMG engines! Especially the Zonda F which was launched with the 7.3L V12!!!! That thing not only is MASSIVE but sounds as though heaven has come down to earth.

The most amazing part is that the M120 came out in what late 1991 and went into production in 1991 and 1992? So the motor used to power a 1m super car is what MB designed back in the 1980's! That is what I find amazing.
They did not use the twin turbo lump. 650 hp from a NA motor is always better!
RENNtech has made 7.6L versions of the M120 and some of the late production versions have very agressive cams and make some sensational power (the 7.3 from AMG is the same you get from RENNtech as they were developed together for the most part using the same suppliers -- RENNtech just pushed a bit farther at the end).
The now dead M119 and M120 were amazing pieces of engineering and they really were not surpassed until the introduction of the M273 motor. The current V12 is honestly a low revving old fashion motor. The 3 valve head dates back to the 40's I think with Ford. It does not even have any valve adjustments. Thats fairly antiquated. Just listening to a late production M119 makes you realize how clattery the M113k motor really is. A 1997 E420 with the latest fuel injection used on the M119 was absolutely the smoothest version. It idled so smoothly and sounded absolutely perfect. The 1992-1994 500E (E500's) were also amazing. Every time I drive one I am astonished at the quality of the motor and wish the M113 had built on that perfection. I still need to find a mint closed deck 1992 500E one day and do a 6.5L conversion. That would be a dream come true.
Sadly the zonda F had some issues and ended up puking out blue smoke. Looked like an oil or transmission fluid leak. But they managed to button it up and beat the Veyron!

somethings better left unsaid ...
The Zonda did not beat the Veyron .. it actually sent its roadster little sister to do the job .. I know it doesn't weigh any heavier, but that in its self is a marvelous engineering achievement.
When the Zonda first came out years ago I remember thinking, what the hell are they thinking, the Germans are known for thier fine engineering and the Italians are known for thier passion for power, give the architecture for the Germans and the power train for the Italians, not the other way around !! all you'd get is an under powered car that doesn't handle, a turkey ! and GOD was I wrong .. heh

AMG makes great motors and it's not really a surprise. Just like General Motors who also makes great engines......and also like GM, Mercedes Benz is ranked 12th in overall reliability. Maybe AMG should start hand-building the rest of their cars as well

And only the gayest posers have fenders like your lexus on their MB cars. It is absolutely terrible looking.
And since MB has the S, GL, and E class cars beating Lexus for the initial quality study by JD power I think the MB line is back in order and the misnomer of a poorly built benz is something from yesterday. Facts are facts. Yes MB was terrible in the late 1990's and early 2000's but since then things have gotten much better. Had a 2007 E350 and it went to the shop once for a check engine light due to a cam shaft sensor (a known issue with the M272 and M273 motors). An associate (employee of Toyota) had a GS350 for 10 months and it was in the shop 4 times for broken interior trim, rattles, and a vibration at idle.
Why are you here? I dont post on IS-F forums so why are you here posting?

So I can drive a bashed up looking lexus with a tumor hood and 4 exhaust tips that are bolted to the bumper and not the exhaust? No thanks.

The "fake" exhaust tip bash has been beaten to death, so If I was you (which I pray to God I'm not) I would come up with some original material. The tips aren't fake, they are actually "real' tips....LOL, and act as a diffuser much like Lambo, Audi, and yes Mercedes Benz performance cars as posted numerous times!
And the fact that you are admitting years of pathetic reliability by Mercedes only to justify it by saying since the early "2,000's things have gotten much better"? So what about the millions of Benz owners prior to the year 2000......It's somehow OK that they have to suffer with mediocrity because cars they don't even own are turning things around? Typical Benz owners logic....you guys make me look better and better every passing hour!

As for the quality of the MB product, say what you must. The fact remains that MB is now equal to Lexus on several fronts and with time I guarantee they will be back up in the top three as far as quality goes. Do you feel good knowing a Camry Lexus ES300 from 1999 was high quality? Does that make your IS-F a better car? So why does it matter if a MB made 10 years ago had quality control issues? You have absolutely ZERO logic here.
And finally back to the exhaust tips. I think it looks terrible and I dont know who found it desirable to have vertically stacked fake tips on a car. The other people who have that are rappers on their Flying Spurs and those look terrible as well.
Why are you here? Do you think I will respect you with your pictures of a car that crashed and caught fire? Or you photo of a fat woman in a bikini? I really wonder what brought you here in the first place. Clearly to much time on your hands.
Ok I'm off. Time to go enjoy the long weekend. Have fun with your Lexus.
