Thinking of dumping my C63 (Rant)

Yup, I think I've had it.

It's in the shop again for what looks like 2 weeks because the seat functions don't work anymore, the rear sunshade doesn't work anymore and the every single vent rattles and the center console rattles as well. Of course none of the parts are available and all have to be ordered from Germany.

This is after all the CEL bull**** I went through and the radio turning itself off and etc...

I have never owned a MB before and I will never own one again. This is bull****. None of my BMW's ever had these issues. BTW the car has 4500 miles on the clock.

BMW here I come...maybe.

Lemon law?? My '05 e500 was a piece of garbage like this too. Always gave me problems. Same exact things you just mentioned.

Damn, your Mercedes sounds like my one and only Bimmer. Electronic and electrical problems everywhere!

There's a bad apple in every barrel, I guess. Sorry to hear of your bad experience.

I had a few electrical issues with my 06 SLK 350. So far my 09 C63 hasn't had problems. Can't say I blame you for your attitude given your bad luck. Get an M3. It's a great car. Or look at the CTS-V.

Don't give up!!! I remember the Cayenne that we had, suffered from the same issues you are having.. and had we had Lemon Law here in Canada, I'd be driving a brand new one, but unfortunately we had to simply sell the car to get rid of all the issues it was causing us.

Wow, that's a lot of problems. Makes me feel lucky.
Best of luck whatever you do. I actually looked at a few leftover new '08 M3s this week. The market is RIPE.

Some states you can also lemon law the car if it is in the shop for 30 days within a 12 month period. That's how my friend got her Magnum SRT-8 lemon lawed here in Las Vegas(car was registered in Cali).

I'm sorry to hear about the problems your car is giving you, but like others have mentioned, don't give up because of one bad experience. I've owned many MB vehicles over the past few years and from time to time I did encounter a few that were just too problematic. But trust me, most are not like that. I'm sure your car will be up and running again in no time....

I had an 03 e39 540i bimmer that gave me nothing but hell! Traded that bad boy in quick! Many of us have come across one vehicle that deters us from a certain make. Don't let this stop you from picking up an 09 C63. The dealer might be able to work with you and get you a deal considering the curent situation.

If it makes you feel any better I have a terrible rattle/squeek in my $140k Black Series that they can't find or fix...***** happens, but it really sucks when it happens to you. Good luck with whatever path you take, I think you are going to be even more pissed when you find out how much, or should I say how little your C63 is worth right now , it's going to cost you $20,000 if you try to get out of the car now.

Damn a $20K hit is a lot (but probably realistic in this market), but for mileage on the car couldn't he go through the lemon law procedure? I am not up on the process with lemon or whatever, but less than 5K miles and those types of issues? It seems as though something could be done.

But with the exception of the rattles in his air vents, aren't the other issues relatively straight forward for the dealership to fix under warranty? It's certainly a pain in the butt to have to deal with all these problems, but it doesn't seem unfixable (if that's a word).

As another poster already stated, in order to qualify for a Lemon Law recall the car must be serviced and documented for the same problem 3 times in a 12 month period, at least that is the law in my state. Always check your paperwork to ensure the service department accuratly listed the things that were serviced and/or fixed on your car, these are the only records that the Lemon Law acknowledges. If you have a problem, have it documented and keep your paperwork....

Lemon law in CA is same problem 3 times, or 30 days in service in the first year of ownership.

I'm getting close to that 30 days, so I might pursue that avenue. My main issue is that if the car has this many problems with 4.5k miles, what's going to happen when it has 20k?

I fully understand that I will take a major hit if I get out of the car right now, and I don't really want to. I love the car. So after thinking about it for a couple days I think I will stick with it for now, but if more problems pile up I'm done.

I wouldnt blame you after all the trouble you have had.

On the flip side of the value of your car - any car you are considering to buy has dropped in value the same. So its probably a wash.
