Guess what I did?

Ran out of gas yesterday....just beyond some railroad tracks. Good thing it was at night. I had rushed to an appointment needing gas and took a phone call and forgo I DESPERATELY needed to hit the gas station. I was about a mile from home and felt a sputter and said "Sh*t!!, I'm running out of gas." I haven't done that since my early 20's. LOL. A police officer was nice enough to sit behind me until the wife (who is delivering Wednesday AM) came with the gas container. I was walking distance from a gas station. In hindsight I probably should have gone myself but was kinda 'noid about leaving the C63 unattended. A few guys on motorcycles and one driving a T-rex helped push me up away from the train tracks. The T-rex looked like a blast.

Sounds like you ran out of gas in a good neighborhood.

My wife isn't delivering Wed, just ran out of gas. Wow, that got blown out of context.

Seems like you've made a choice as to which is more important to you.

Sounds like somthing from the movies... running out of gas on rail tracks!!
Then some rough bikers come to help a guy with a Benz. lol

Anyway I would have been worried too, thinking about leaving the car on the tracks while getting gas. Coming back to see train on you car! Just glad it worked out for ya

I don't even know how to begin. Ok lets see.....

1) How the hell does an adult run out of gas? That is really good for your car.
2) With a cop sitting behind you, why not walk to a gas station?
3) You make your pregnant wife get it for you? What a gentleman.
4) "'noid" Who the hell uses the term 'noid?
5) You were afraid to leave your car unattended but yet had to let a bunch of people put their hands all over it?

In conclusion you are an idiot.

Darwin awards for all. You also are a nominee for this year's Nobel Selfish Prize.

I've noticed that most of the C63 owners on this board tend to be very pleasant. There is no reason for you to be post this troll response. You really need to relax and let go of the ridiculous condescension.

does the c63 have show how many miles you have left to OUT OF GAS? if so, how many extra miles did you get out of it once it hit zero?

In my G35, i have driven about 7 miles on ZERO miles left and have not run out... kind of like that Seinfeld episode with Kramer taking Jerry's car and refusing to put gas in it

The center info screen goes to a reserve fuel alert that you have to hit a steering wheel button to get back to whatever you were one...stereo/navi/trip, etc.

The problem with this car is that it gets 12 mpg in the city with a heavy foot and I can see someone forgetting about a gas alert perhaps the day before.

But if you're low on fuel and you've shut off the warning, even when you re-start the car, the warning will just come back on, no?

I'm not sure about that. I occasionally get that warning and then drive the car later after it had been turned off but I can't remember if I get the warning again. I'll have to check that out.

Actually, it happened to me just today. But it could be just a West Coast thing.

I'm in the South so my light is probably a little slow to come on. Hell, even my Navi has a drawl.
