power steering stiffer

I'm having issues with the power steering on my c63 (6K miles). It starts out fine, when the car starts, but as I drive around town it starts getting stiffer and stiffer more, more noticeable at lower speeds, such as driving into parking spots or into a garage. It feels almost as there is not power steering at all. However, once on the road again it is fine...
Aany thoughts?

Ummm...

I know it sounds crazy, but you might want to take it into the dealership service.

I'm not sure if we here on the C63 forum are ready for such radical and nouveau ideas. Next thing you know, we'll have utter chaos on our hands!

Don't mind me; I'm just being facetious.

Does your engine sound the same as day one? Do you for example hear a noise like the bicycle chain turning really fast? Because if that is so, it could also mean that during that 360 session of yours, a pump could have been unplugged..

Where is the power steering reservoir in a c63? Someone mentioned that it could be a low fluid level???

Take it to the dealership immediately. Mine did the same thing a month or so ago and something inside the pump came apart and they had to replace every part that fluid touched so it was extensive. Everything was covered under warranty. Get it checked as quick as you can. NOT normal.

I broke 2 power steering pumps and the rack and pinion on my CLK. I also destroyed the pump on the SL55. MB's are prone to this.

Was it something in particular that did that like tracking the car or just some really bad luck? I would have thought that the steering could take some abuse.
