C32 AMG
Hanging around the dealer yesterday. Why does the E63 have higher ...
... EPA mileage ratings than the C63?

The only reason I could imagine was either transmission ratios, shift programs or both.

It might be a stupid point to make as I don't have much expertise in this field, but could the bigger gas tank and the ability of the engine to breath better due to the bigger size of the car be a factor for this?

I bet it's the gearing or it's the fact that the E63 has taller tires, effectively making the gearing taller.

C63 = 12/19 (same as my sticker)
E63 = 12/18

I saw the absolute opposite. E63 1 MPG higher than the C63. I am of sound mind and body.
