Mercedes car seat for 13 month old and up?
Hey guys, I have been looking for a Benz car seat for my 13 month old boy, I thought there was one available, but all I could find is a infant seat. So I have been searching and found Recaro makes these seats and the one that has impressed me the most is one from Simpson Racing, any of you carrying infants/toddlers have any input, I know I could go with a generic one which are available but I want something a little more distinctive as the car is like that. This is not my daily driver so one that is fairly easy to remove and switch with the other cars in the house is somewhat important. I know this is not a common question so you young guys dont bash.

I don't have any advice for that age, but for future reference when your kids are old/big enough for a booster seat the "Clek Olli Booster Seat" is awesome. Extremely easy in/out with LATCH equipped vehicles. The most padding for the little butts I've seen so far. It actually looks like it was custom designed for the C63 (and previously owned Audi A6 - both with dark leather). It's a little expensive, but I can't say enough good things about it and I'm buying another one when my 2nd is big enough.
p.s. My wife required we use Britax the "Mother-Of-All-Carseats" for both our kids. And they actually do fit in the backseat of the C63 - so pretty much anything will work unless your kids like to kick the back of your seat or you're too tall to scoot the front seats way up

I have a Britax front facing car seat for my 20 month old. It works fine with the LATCH system in my C63, but my daughter constantly kicks the back of seat scuffing it up. Fortunately its plastic so easy to clean. Also the Britax has fairly bulky attachments for the LATCH, so it leaves a pretty big crease in the leather. I'm curious if they make a slimmer LATCH extension so this would not happen. I have no idea.

Hey Nick

Britax Marathon. You can mount it in the middle to reduce the seat kicking a little bit. Best car seat I found anywhere up to 40 Lbs

Loving my Recaro and Isofix base
http://www.child-seats.co.uk/recaro-...xpert-plus.php
Superb seat, I really recommend it, and the bucketting matches the AMG front seats!..makes the little fella feel involved & well held when you fly round those bends.
Swaps in & out easily on an Isofix base...cracking seat

Not trying to be a d*ck, but child car seats are not meant to be used in the front seats of any vehicle. That's actually a very good way to ensure they are injured or killed in an accident. I hope you at least disable the front passenger airbag if you must put them in the front (ie 2 seater or truck)

I have this one in the back for my little boy
http://www.recaro-seats.co.uk/child-...port.php#image
Very comfy for him and fits in well. You can use this for full age range right from 9mths to 12 years
Unfortunately i have the kicking of the back seat problem too but i may well try him in the middle seat now.

I have the Recaro in my Cayenne and it is the biggest pain in the butt to get my 18 month old in and out of. The side bolsters look cool but they get in the way. My wife's Britax is sooo much easier. The safest place for a child seat is in the middle which isn't possible if you have more than one child.
Another note from my first response firemen friends...ALWAYS use the seatbelt and 3rd belt fasteners when installing a car seat. The latches can be used as well but all too often people don't get them properly clicked-in. The 3rd belt keeps the top of the childseat from moving forward and helps to keep the seat planted. They also say to keep your child in a harness as long as possible as it is far safer than any booster. My .02

I've got the Britax Marathon. It sits in my basement now, since the Recaro Young Sport is wayyyy better.
It looks better, it's easier to strap the kids into, it fits MB seats better, & i believe it is the safest seat on the market.
We can't get them in Canada, but you can get one while in the US and bring it across. I now have 2 of them. PM me for how to get one shipped to Canada.

Took the kids out this weekend and wanted to share this pic of the Clek booster latched in to the C63 back seat. The flash makes it look shinier than it is. IRL it really looks like it's almost custom designed for the car. The LATCH mechanism does wrinkle the leather a little at the very bottom of the seatback, so I keep it unlatched unless there's actually a kid buckled in. (you can see this in the second image at the bottom right of the pic.

I have both the Simpson infant seat and booster seat. They are actually Graco brand and modified by Simpson, They function well and are moderately priced. They have red accents in the trim so that may be a factor unless you have Mars Red like I do.
