It's official: My car is a lemon
Turned in my car and my keys this morning. Got my check and that's that.
All in all it was a good experience dealing with MB's buy-back program. It did take a little longer than I expected (about 1.5 months), but they came through in the end.
Regarding the mileage fee (turned out to be .50 per mile), they only use the mileage UP to your first problem. Well, I had my first CEL at 400miles, so that's all I had to pay ($200). I put a total of 9500 miles on the car since August of 08. Not a bad deal. Tax, license everything else got refunded.
I felt a little sad turning the car in, but also major relief to be done with it. Problem after problem wears you out...lol.

CLK63
RS4
S5
RS5(when availible)
M3 coupe
M3 sedan
M5
GT-R
if you can afford it an R8
if you can afford it an SL63, love the new one.
Over 30 days in shop over the first 12 months of ownership OR 4 times in the shop for the same problem (minor part of the car like electric) OR three or more in the shop for the same problem (major part of the car that affects your safety)
I've been racking my brain for months on what to get next. I think the CLK 63 and R8 are out of my league. Right now it's between M3, M5, or S5. Don't really like the GT-R, even though it's a beast.
McKenna in the LA area was advertising $20,000 off!! (of course the MSRP was $97K)Good time to be a buyer. Report back!
BMW still hasn't worked out the bugs with M-DCT, so I might go with 6MT if you decide M3.
I've decided against getting another C63. Even though the chances of getting another lemon are slim, I kind of feel a "been there done that" feeling. It's time for something else.

And I am not so sure about the M3 either, I would def go with the M5 out of those 3 but it is also the most expensive...
GT-R would be the most fun
But I know its a tough call, I had a TT G35 coupe (which I loved) and I sold it and couldn’t bring myself to get the GT-R for some reason, something was holding me back... So I went with the C63 (No Regrets! The Best of Mercedes & AMG
M3's are a dime a dozen. I've actually become desensitized towards seeing them. They've become invisible cars.
If you need any questions answered about the M5, let me know.
Good luck on your next vehicle.
P.S. You could probably pick up a used CLK BS for mid 80's, which isn't too bad, and it's a phenomenal car.
When my lease is up next year, looking at the CTS-V, another M5, GT-R, C63, M3. I think the Caddy is at the top of the list for now. You just can't beat the price and performance.

That just blows my mind...
2 completely different cars, different price, difference abilities.... PLZ don’t compare a caddy to a Black Series. (Just a bad comparison, don’t turn this into you thinking I’m bashing the CTS-V)
THAT GT3 IS AWESOME I love the car!! Looks like a really good deal too... Wish I had that whip
At under 90k, it's still in the same ballpark of the cars mentioned. No one is even remotely suggesting that the two cars are of equal stature. But if you must persist, what was the BS's Nordschlieffe's time, hmm?
Just throwing out suggestions...

They will give me the money i paid for the car less a mileage adjustment. This will include Tax and license fees. Not sure how much the adjustment will be, hopefully not too much. Anyone know? Car has 6000 on the clock.
Now the question is what am I going to get next. Not sure. Probably won't get another C63.
Now to read threw the rest of the thread.
I still say go for the M5, lol.
I was looking at pics of the CLK63 BS just now; does anyone else feel the looks are getting seriously dated?
I'm sure it's an amazing car, but it just looks so old.........
I got an '08 E92 M3 yesterday. Brand new. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse

I will post a new thread once I get around to taking some pictures, probably this weekend. I'm looking forward to the hate...
