I traded in my C63 for a....
...Kleeman K2 package.
It's simply a different car. Here are some initial impressions:
Sound
The car sounded like a demon stock. Now it sounds like a pack of drunk, voracious demons spewing their demon breath out the back of my car. The more I press the gas, the more incensed they become.
At sane speeds and RPMs, the exhaust note is modest--tepid even--much the same as stock. No drone, just a lull in the demons' wails while they suck in air to fuel their next violent outburst.
Acceleration
Ever have a dream about being able to fly, but you can barely get off the ground and seem to just skim above the surface of the ground? That's how my C63 drove as stock. Now my dream shifts to being able to rocket straight up into the air and before I know it, I'm 10,000 feet up and accelerating into the climb. That's what it's like now.
0 - 60: like I'm kicked in the stomach by a mule
5 - 60: like I'm kicked in the *** by a thoroughbred
30-90: like someone shoved me off a cliff
80 - 120: like a bottle rocket on a matchbox car
Install
This could not have been easier. Left the car with a friend to do the following:
* drove it to my independent mechanic on Monday night & put on lift
* pulled the ECU and shipped to Kleemann on Tuesday for Wednesday arrival
* mechanic did his magic mechanic thing with the manifolds and such
* Kleemann had my flashed ECU back Thursday AM (24 hour turn-around)
* put ECU back in car
* picked up my car from friend
Kleemann Experience
Cory from Kleemann could not have been more helpful. All my parts, and my ECU programming were delivered on time, and as expected. So far, so good.
Concerns with Warranty
None. I have a local dealer who understands these mods and their liklihood of not causing any trouble. I have no CELs, and have not heard of any CELs with this vendor mod.
Final Thoughts
Can't think. Swollen brain from all the acceleration and ridiculous fun.
In this thread I plan on posting some sound clips. Later in the week I plan to post some pics of the manifolds and the other metal tubes and things I got in the K2 package that I really don't understand. Hey, I'm a bioengineer--I only understand stuff you can't easily see.
Cheers

The gains seem to be rather even across the RPM range. For the first 3 gears the RPM needle moves too fast to even tell. 4 - 7 again seem to be smooth.

I come to Pitts for business, maybe next time I am in town you could show me the beast in person? I have a c63 and want to do the mods as well, but have been waiting to get some more miles on the car.

IMHO, the more miles with the mod is more important than the miles before the mod. I did this at 3,600 miles.

Nice clips. I know exactly what you mean, too. When I got my K2 kit on my E55, it was like my beast got a serious shot of a$$-kickin attitude in the rear end. It was always angry-sounding and fast, but the K2 made it even angrier and faster. I can't wait for the K3 and K4 treatment.

Kleemann K2 Pics
Morning all. As promised, here are some pics. As mentioned, I don't know what each of these things are (shame, shame), but all I know is that the fabrication looked excellent, the sounds is awesome, and the performance has been phenominal. I put over 200 miles on my car this weekend (and in a prior thread, also received a speeding ticket in the process)
Any holy sh*t, the cold start on this thing nearly blew my ears out. Wish that cold start would happen every time

Wow, I want that!!!!
No wonder you're getting pulled over. The headers really do make a difference even in startup sound. And the acceleration is definitely much faster than stock. Sweet.

So just to clear things up, the K2 package consists of
- Kleemann ECU
- Kleemann manifolds
- Kleemann Hi-flow cats
Price?

As for price, it's best to contact Cory at Kleemann. You can find his number in another thread on this topic--just search for his name.

Hi. Do you still retain the blip on down change?
The guys here at AMG South Africa are trying to develop software, but cannot retain the blip sound when down changing gears.
Awesome car you have there by the way
