im 190cm so in my right hand drive car my left leg leans on the left side a bit so i can feel a bit of heat ... next time you head out after 30 min put your hand on the side and see if it is a little hot

One with 4 wheels
My W203 does it, and all my previous cars (non-MB) before it did it as well.

well, with a huge 6.3L under the hood, you should be expecting a lot of heat anyways.. a bit of heat transfer there is quite normal cos i use me flip flops when i come back home from training and also noticed it earlier.

Not sure where you are located but the vents that go to the rear seats run down the sides of the console. are you running the heater? Try running the AC see if they cool down. I know on my C350 this past summer if the AC was pumping the side of the console were actually cold to the touch.

I've noticed this recently; my automatic toll device sits in the ash tray and when I pull it out for use, it's many times really hot. The console in that area all feels really really warm. Not always, seemingly with spirited or heavy rush hour trips. Should I be worried about tranny issues? Is this normal?

the best solution to heat is insulation. Some version of dynamat or other sound dampening under the carpet attached to the bare metal will help drastically.
