tyres for c 63 amg can you help

Hi to every body . Im a new member thrilled with the power (especially the torque) of my new car. Needless to say that because of the many dograces with various cars i've beaten (Audi R8, Bmw M3, Porche 911) im now in the need of new tyres. Have you got any ideas? The pirelli on the wet do not fuction so well

Hi, where do you live?
Cuz in CA rain season is pretty much over. I don't think we'll be seeing much more rain in southern cali. So you would want to get summer tires and seeing you race a lot, your tires are probably not going to last more than 5000 miles. Which will be in time for winter time to get new tires
Anyways if you do some research around on the forum a lot of ppl have recommended michelin ps sport.

I went with Toyo T1R's. Had them installed last week.
So far so good. 235's front and 275's rear.
very reasonable pricing.

Kumho Ecsta SPT (KU31)

Is what I got. Price was hard to beat. Even if they wear the same or a bit faster your still ahead $$ wise. They have a 320 tread wear.

I just put a set of Toyo RA1's on my car. 245's on the front and 275's on the rear. These are R compound tires but they should last longer than the OEM Pirellis and should also provide more grip for the occasional track day.

Falken FK-452

Anybody have any thoughts on these? I was offered two rears for $211 each. Fronts are $140 each. I need rears bad. so bad in fact that I've parked the beast and now I'm driving a 2003 Ford Ranger that I picked up from an old retiree for $3000!! Stoked about that price. Truck only has 36k miles but anyway. That's besides the point. I even changed my insurance on the beast to 5k miles a year! It's going to be hard walking passed my beast every morning and getting into the truck but it's worth it. I want the beast to stay puuurty forever;-)

Love to hear your thoughts on the Falken tires.

I never understood guys who buy a car to leave it in their garage and only drive it on Sundays. Drive the damn car, that's what its for! In 3 years its going to be out dated anyways.

hehe you should take your car out more often.. but if you're cutting costs.. maybe that helps.. but if you take it out everyday, you'll naturally learn to have a better relationship with her

No rubbing issues whatsoever.... the tires are 10.7" wide in the rear... only about .6" wider than the 255's so .3" on either side and no problems....
These tires are great and very quiet compared to the Kuhmo's, and only a few $$ more... I found the Kuhmo's VERY noisy after they started to wear down on my 350Z..and the Z is noisy to start with but noticeably louder with the Kuhmo Ectsa's.... so far the Toyo's are a much better deal for the money... but time will tell...

No rubbing at all, just a little more road noise, but for the price I can live with it.

Most of these are "low cost" options that will work well for most, I think. What about some nice, grippy tires to maximize hookup and lateral grip? Has anyone thought of the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, the Nitto NT05's or the MT E/T drag radials? I know the quarter-milers like the MT's, but I worry that they are too heavy a tire for daily driving performance. Any recommendations for maximum street performance?

I'm wondering how yours are working out? Mine looks like it's about 20-30% gone with about 1000 miles on it.

Has anyone tried 255 Fronts? I for one like the look of the 18" OEM wheels and am thinking of maybe going with Nitto Invo in 255 and 275's.
