Check this site out. Looks like MB is following suit and will stick a twice blown V6 into the next gen C63.

http://www.worldcarfans.com/9090320....ries-m-is-a-go

The site mentions the MB decision relative to the M3 so I guess this engine would see duty in the next-gen E63, SLK63, ML63 and new CLK replacement? I wonder how the CLS a S-Class would perform with a V6, that's alot of weight to carry.

Im not surprised, we are going to see smaller motors packed with turbos putting out some major power. The days of the big 6.2's are almost over.

What the hell?

So does this mean the 2010 C63 will be the last V8 beast?

Damn I better order mine quick.............I refuse to drive another V6, even if it has 2342342342 turbo's in it.

There is NO replacement for displacement.

I'm guessing they'll follow suit and release simultaneously with the 2013 M3. This is the first written confirmation I've seen.

I agree, I was never a fan of V8's until the past 4 years. My first sports car was a 1991 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo and I swore the TT V6 was all I needed. Then an E46 M3 which cemented my views on a V6. An 06 Vette started to sway me to the V8 and the F430 was the hook, line and sinker. The incredible torque that the AMG 6.3L has is a trademark characteristic and there's NO way a TT V6 can even begin to emulate that. I know the emphasis is on fuel efficiency and the mfg'rs are attempting to stabilize performance through weight reductions but in doing so, the soul of the cars will become muted.

Looks like all rumors to me.

Although for anyone who has witnessed first hand how much ground shattering power can be made with turbochargers...this is not a bad thing for the environment or for car enthusiasts.

Just wait until 600whp CTT AMG's that get 23mpg are the "MHP Stage 2" packages you guys are buying...

What a nightmare, no big powerful sounding eights replaced by whinny 6 bangers, the one most important reason I got this car was for a V8 powered machine, if they do this, looks like this will be my last AMG.

The new E class and coupe will be comming with the 6.2 liter AMG powerplant and a bump up in power, so I don't see any changes at least in the near future unless they want to interduce a new powerplant to the AMG series.

The new E-class is definitely the last model to get the 6.3l v8. I'm betting the C is the first AMG to get the new engine. I just can't imagine losing the exhaust note. Well I bought my 08, thinking it would probably be a keeper. I figured the current performance envelope was reaching it's threshold and something had to give.

AMGSC posted in the W203 AMG forum about a TT 6.2. I guess that is incorrect.

How will they get all the piping to fit in under the bonnet of the C-class, intercooler piping and all with turbos.

Anyone got pictures of the New E-Class coupe?... that sounds hot...

I heard from a source that these changes will not be applied until 2014 models (about 3-4yrs)... I am not sure how reliable that info is but I’m just throwing it out there anyway.

BTW the new 3.5L TT engine isn’t going to pump out 600bhp... not happening...
Even the new BMW V6 TT engine for the M3 is going to have less Horsepower, but that doesn’t mean it won’t perform as well if not better probably as far as track tests are concerned. Which probably is also the case for the new Mercedes 3.5L TT engines, the new C-AMG will most likely not have more than 451bhp.

Our C63 are going to be classic cars, we should all be graceful that we got to own these beast before the V6 TT revolution begins... I’ll probably hang on to mine for a while considering I don’t have any major issues…

All new generation MB engines are going to be smaller with forced induction. Most likely turbos. They will maintain the same power output of the current models, but will gain fuel ecomony. I can only assume this mentality will carry over to the AMG models.

Also the comment of piping fitting into the C-class for a 6 cylinder is probably quite and easy task. I can only assume you've seen the engine bay of a 65 vehicle . . .
