Which company does the best Carbon Airbox and Engine Cover ?

Im looking into buying the Carbon Fiber Airbox and Engine cover and see that there are a couple of companies that make it. Does it matter which one i go with or some make better than the other ?

As far as I am aware, it is only manufactured by one company. (Carbonio) It is sold by several different suppliers/tuners.

Whoever sells it the cheapest....they are all the same. Benefits don't seem to show up on dynos, but it does look great.

You will feel a difference when driving the car, but unless you have a dyno with a big enough fan to simulate airflow when driving at speed you won't see much gain on a dyno.

Victor at VRP was having a special at around $1450 for the CF box. Good deal. I would check them to see if they have any left....

For those who have the CF Airbox, did you have any issues with fitting the front engine cover? I managed to get mine to fit and stay on, but I know not all the tabs are locked in place. It doesn't snap down nice and tight like the stock one. It seems the front tab is off a little, and when I force it to snap on it buckles slightly in the middle causing the center tab to pop out.

Like I said before, it still stays on and looks nice and pretty since there are enough tabs to hold it in place, but I'm **** about having things fit like oem. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one having this issue.

I think my clips are pretty secure but don't think they will pass multiple removals. I plan to epoxy them in place when i swap out the filters during my next service ( 3-4 weeks) That combined with gently expanding the clip opening should do it.....i hope

Actually I meant the actual tabs molded onto the cover, not the metal clips themselves...although those tend to pop off too haha. It seems the alignment of the tabs are off, in particular the very front one. I can't imagine mine would be the only one like this though since they all come from the same mold I assume.

Carbonio sure looks pretty but as noted, it may not add a whole lot more than stock. I had one on my APR Stg II MKV GTI and it didn't do a thing. Well, it didn't do any better than adding a K&N. But then again, different cars and different results.

RennTech was supposed to release one next month, but it may have been pushed further but I don't think they make an engine cover....

There are several companies but carbino performs the best.

Go for it as it suits the best for your vehicle
