Delivery Questions
So Im taking delivery Saturday (fingers crossed) if all goes well. Since I dont have the manual yet I got just a couple questions because Im not sitting in the dealer lot reading the book to make sure I drive it like I should -
The first 1200 miles no revving over 4500 rpm and no constant load, anything else?
Is M, C, or S individually discouraged per AMG for that period? Is any one of those modes preferred for break-in? Comfort mode starts in second so is that good/bad for the car?
Downshifting is ok as long as you dont bring it past 4500? (i dont think i can wait any longer to hear the throttle blips)

There are so many threads for the breakin or run in period, it really depends on what school of thouhgt you have been introduced to, there are guys who will only drive it hard from day one and their cars are stellar, then there are guys who granny their car and also drive well, so no real answer as you will get to different answers from everyone here.

There are so many threads for the breakin or run in period, it really depends on what school of thouhgt you have been introduced to, there are guys who will only drive it hard from day one and their cars are stellar, then there are guys who granny their car and also drive well, so no real answer as you will get to different answers from everyone here.

I believe MB recommends driving in C mode during break in. I drove it in all 3 modes. Personally I think you should just use common sense during break in. You don't need to baby the car for all 1,200 mi, but you also don't need to be hammering it at every red light either. I don't see anything wrong with letting the car ring out every now and then, just make sure the engine and fluids are up to temperature.

Just remember! Your car is very hightech! Everything is Module learning. If you teach it to be slow, it's going to react slower. If you teach it to be aggressive, then it will react faster!!! I'm not saying to do some top speed runs but give it some aggressive throttle movements! Either way, it's fast!
