its nice to have Alcantara Steering Wheel, i like it alot,

but if the rest of my car's interior is not covered in alcantara, i personally think its meaningless.

i personally will NEVER track the car and probably never light up the tires, and since its my only car and dont need the better suspension, I dont want the stiffer ride.

IMO im a good enough driver to keep my car straight with the base differential because I dont pretend like im good enough to drive w/o traction control.

To say someone cant afford a $3k option on a $70k car doesnt make sense, but I did find a different way to spend it in 19" wheels since Im happy with the performance of the car the way it comes, but not happy with 18's.

if you're tracking it then definitely get it, if not, then you have a choice to make.
Ror me, never considered it.

1.) dont track it
2.) wont ever go near 186
3.) hate alcantara (i dislike carbon fiber as well- i know, blasphemy)
Agreed.

I'm ordering mine without PP as well for the same reasons.

If I lived in Cali, MAYBE I would get it. But in Houston, forget about it, no way I can even use PP.

The only thing I don't understand about this decision is why you say the LSD doesn't mean anything to you, but then you're going to throw another 50-60 HP (or whatever the Kleemann K2 pkg delivers) into the car.

IMO, you could definitely use the LSD from what I've heard about the traction issues with the open dif.

But to each their own.

PatSC23, I also don't really like carbon fiber.

If you plan on lowering it or doing a tune that's half the package you would be paying double for...

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
To me the LSD was a must have on a car with this much power.

It is a great car either way, enjoy!

What I like!
Gas mileage around town is really bad. Like 13mpg if you're lucky. But the sound of gas being guzzled ..... oh, it's worth it!

Like Nick, the P30 wasn't available when I got my car, but I wouldn't have ordered it either.

Thanks Hans, I remember Hans being one of the first on this forum to get this car and we were all waiting for his pics of his tenorite(steel) grey, no one even had pics yet of this car, so, at the time the PP was not even offered for north america, being that I got my car July 08 and one of the first in my parts of Canada, neither did I have the option.

So how is the PP suspension vs one with KW coilovers for track?
For myself if I were to buy a C63, I would go with the stock package than add coilovers, lsd, aftermarket wheels and hp mods.
All cars would look better with a slightly lower stands IMO.

Hahahahahaha, thanks man I need a good laugh, clown...

Awww did I hurt your feelings... I apologize, I was unaware this forum was rated "G"... I didn’t bash your car nor did I ever mention mine was the best.

In my first post I mentioned that "IF" price was not an obstacle then the PP should definitely be purchased, almost everyone here has complained about the price... I will also admit that Mercedes DEFINATELY over charges for this package, but then again Mercedes over charges for absolutely everything...

ALSO... You do NOT need to get the carbon trim with the PP package because I opted for the aluminum trim (Carbon is not for me)

If you do not like alcantra, then I guess that is a legitimate reason for not getting it.
HOWEVER, to say that LSD isn’t worth it is ridiculous, and if you think it is not beneficial for street driving then you obviously have never driven one with LSD on the street so how can you really have an opinion????

IF you plan on changing the brakes, ECU, or rotors you will DEFINATELY spend more money aftermarket (I AM NOT SAYING THE PP PACKAGE IS BETTER or AS GOOD AFTERMARKET PRODUCTS!)

PLUS everything is covered under warranty where the aftermarket products are not (god forbid anything terrible happens)

2009 C63 AMG
I've had both...

I bought one of the early 2009 C63's that arrived with only half of the options installed (even though I paid for the full package). It included the LSD and increased top speed, but didn't have the upgraded suspension, front brakes, or alcantara steering wheel. I drove the car for 1.5 months or so with the stock suspension while I worked out the details on the retrofit with MB. It was a nice ride and most would be happy with it.

I had the retrofit completed, rather than taking the $1500 they were offering. I liked the standard suspension, but I could immediately feel a difference with the PP suspension upgrade in cornering. I didn't think there was much body roll in the standard suspension, but I could immediately feel a difference -- the PP suspension sticks like glue as you power through the turns. I'm glad I pushed for the retrofit, but as most other mention it isn't going to make a difference if you're just driving around town. I am planning on a few track days this year, so it was worth it to me. It really comes down to personal preference and value. As many suggest, you could do your own upgrades -- which may or may not impact your warranty. I'm fortunate that my local dealership is a Performance Center and does Kleeman / Renntech upgrades without voiding the warranty. You really can't go wrong either way. Drive them both and see which feels better to you.

As for gas mileage, it's not even worth worrying about. I average about 8.5 mpg with my driving style. It's about 50/50 surface streets and highway miles. Then again, I am a "spirited" driver and enjoy the feeling of driving like I'm 16 again (I'm 35).

Good luck with your decision! Regardless, it's a great engine and a fun car...you can't go wrong.

Is LSD require frequent oil change, 3000 km?
For daily driving it is not an advantage.
Mine is without PP and I am happy with current setup.

If you can afford it and while MB is still offering it, then get it. In the future, it will be a rare C63 with PP, which most of us don't have or would like to have.

My first C63 was the non PP,
I then swopped for one with the PP.

The difference is black and white.

The PP in my opinion is a must if you can afford it.

+1

People who think otherwise have never driven one with it therefore have no idea...
