While I do think that the appearance mods are pretty bad, I don't really see how this is posing.

There was no AMG or C63 badge on the car. He just threw a quad exhaust, a bodykit and a C63 hood on the car.

Seems fine by me.

Removing badging is much more common in Europe than it is in the States (not sure about other geographies) so I wouldn't read too much into that.

The answer is--he obviously likes the look of the car better with the quad exhaust.

I just don't see how this is posing if he's not claiming that it's anything other than a C class with a quad exhaust.

By your logic, is it posing if I take some AMG rims and put them on a C300?

There aren't any holes holding on the badges. It's just some double sided sticky. I debadged mine and that's how I found out.

As stated, debadging is a common thing in europe and several in the states do so as well for a cleaner and more symmetrical look. Several do this on many makes and models.

Going from a dual to quad exhaust is hardly posing as well. Several kits out there (Brabus and Wald for example) have quad exhausts for non-amg 204s. Maybe they like the look and/or sound of a quad setup. Nothing wrong with that as well. I'll be going with a quad Meisterschaft setup fairly soon and don't consider that nearing the realms of posing.

Basically, posing is pretending to be something you're not. This is achieved by badging a car as something they're not (such tossing on AMG, C63, 6.3 quarter panel, AMG hood badge).

However, there is a case where non-AMG cars can justifiably badge themselves as an AMG.....if they do an engine swap and sport an AMG engine regardless of base model vehicle. No Engine = No Badge.

It's not a C63. Seats give it away. 1:36 mark, you can clearly see the reflection off the metal headrest poles. People spend their cash on exterior for these conversions, but usually skip out on the inside. Then there's also the brakes, which you can clearly see numerous times aren't the AMG BBK.
