Side-markers question.
Do you have to get behind the marker to remove it or is it done from the outside of the wheel well?

On the C63 you can access the side marker assembly from under the hood.
From inside the engine bay:
1) you twist out the bulb socket (and replace bulbs to amber if you want)
2) then depress the catch to disconnect the outer piece of the cover assembly from the inside shell - I removed both of these since the new set I ordered came with both pieces.
From both inside and outside:
3) then you have to line up the new outer cover with the inner shell and snap them together - this took me a while for some reason.
4) lastly put the bulb socket back in (edit)
That's it -took me about 10 minutes on the first side, less than 5 on the other.
Realize that the left and right assemblies are not interchangable (they are stereo isomers if you will)
It's a little tight, so I suppose if you have huge hands you may have to go from wheel well. I also don't recomend doing it while the engine is hot.

I bought some on ebay for 50 bucks from seller "9555519." Lightning fast shipping. Here is what they look like installed. I did not install the amber bulb, but rather left the clear bulb.

you can just get high temp silver/chrome paint and give your existing bulbs a light coat. And while you're at it, might as well stealth out the turn signals to get rid of any egg yolk effect.

Yeah, it's a simple DIY. Just go to your local autozone/kragen/napa and pick up some high heat engine spray paint in either chrome or silver, remove the bulbs, and gave it one light coat all around. Let dry, and reinstall. Easy and just as good as any rip off priced stealth bulbs you see online.

I did the same thing with VHT Night Shades, except I wanted to just darkened the bulb enough that it doesn't show through my painted side markers....looks good you can barely see the light compared to others who have them done.

Looks good!
I'm still debating whether or not I made the wrong choice on getting clear side markers for my Mars Red car instead of a smoked set. I think I made the right choice, but who knows.
