I was just at Discount Tire last week and they said the high PSI was probably to keep the MPG up as much as possible. I'm going to try a lower setting now that I have new rears.

Agree with that. I'm open to dropping down the pressure further in my tires. 41/45 was way too high for a car that usually has one passenger.

Occasionally when I turn the car off I get a "correct tire pressure" message on the display. I checked last night and my cold tire pressure is 36 on all 4 tires. 95% of my driving is by myself.
Does anyone know at what pressure the indicator goes off?
And it does seem odd that my Tahoe could tell me the exact pressure in all four tires at any time whereas my BMW and C63 can only tell me that one or more tires has an incorrect pressure.

It's really sensitive, even a slightly off will trip the TPM. I've had to add air twice since I got my car 6 months ago.
