There are exactly 6 posts relating to tire size. One original light-hearted post about how narrow our rear tires are, one post agreeing with him and merely stating that the rear tires on the C63 are smaller than most in our class, three posts attempting to explain away the (my) confusion on the way tire sizes are applied and their relationship with real world girth depending on manufacturer and tire type, and an ending post on how little I know about the topic and my refrain from speaking like a do know. That's 6 posts,... 6 our of 126+ posts. That's less than half of one percent,... hardly enough to reach a point where tires would be "all I (you) saw". Since those posts, responding to your post is the first I've mentioned tires since those posts. OT? Well that's debatable. A discussion on who hates us, begs quick exploration as to 'why' they hate us, and some quick comparisons. Six out of 126+, if nothing else,... is quick. Wouldn't you agree?

Who's "us"? You don't have a C63. And every post you make carries a subtle attempt to imply a CTS-V oneupmanship over the C63. You're entitled to think your car is superior; that's why you bought it. Even if we aren't completely bored out of our minds with your continual attempts at condescension, surely you must be tired of saying the same things over and over again.

You really need to start adding something of value to this forum if you don't want to be seen to be the pariah that you're very quickly becoming.

Come to think of it, doing a tire size comparison would in no way appear to be "on-topic". Why would owners of other cars hate the C63 because it has narrower rear tires than their own car's? If anything, they should be grateful for any small advantage that could be gained by Mercedes-AMG's decision to install the relatively narrow tires that our cars have.

Lord knows there are precious few areas where most cars can assert superiority over the C63.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I promise you, it wasn't my intent to convey an air of superiority,... no way! Hell,... I'm only here because of my continued attraction to the C63, not because I think what I have now is superior to it. And you're right, I don't own a C63,... Damn, I was this close to being an "US". Maybe I'm wishing I had landed on that sexy Black 09 C63 with the Performance Pack a little. I dunno, maybe I'm guilty of wishing that the C63 community would accept the CTS-V community as an ally against the real and traditional enemy,... BMW's M series, specifically the M3 and M5. But that's a perfect world, and I'm the only one seeing it that way. I know you won't find me on any BMW board talking about the V. There is where my and personal dislike lies. Hell, I only registered with one of those boards, and that was just to gloat over pounding one of their M3 members I had a run-in with while driving my C32 in Columbia, MD. And that was sometime back in 2004.

Eric, it's not that I am alone in sensing that there's a bit of a smirk behind everything you post on this board. Look at the flames that have been thrown your way in recent times. You may be a well-respected member over on the C32 board or whatever, but contributing positively to the discussions on this board is the only way you'll win these guys over, not by coming across in that somewhat "mightier-than-thou" persona that your postings seem to have portrayed you as.

I don't really care what you say or don't say. I don't own this board. But if you've ever wondered why there seems to be some animosity being built up between you and other board members, it boils down to the irrelevance and the perceived conceitedness of much of what you say.

Anyway, might want to think about that.

Peace.

Okay, I think I know who hates us....it's all the owners of cars which have their anti-theft alarms set off because of the roar of our exhaust when we drive past.

It was really nice out the other day so I lowered all the windows on the way home from the gym. I know the car's exhaust is loud (not a bad thing) but it is really impressive. Didn't realize it put out quite that much noise.

I only set off one today. But I got some quarters and a Paul Anka cd for my trouble so that made it all worthwhile.

THANK YOU!!

I knew I am not the only one who feels this way... I really don’t mean to be a dick but I’ve mentioned this numerous times and yet the posts still continue with the same remarks over and over. Maybe now he gets the point...

ERICPD, it is absolutely nothing personal, especially since I do not know you at all. I will even be man enough to admit my reaction was wrong and I apologize for that. I am all about discussing other cars, but when someone continuously posts stuff about a CTS-V in every post and changes thread topics to CTS-V topics it is extremely annoying.

I used to park next to a Mazda with a really sensitive car alarm when I had my 330i w/ PP and would rev my engine right before I turned the car off and set his alarm off every morning. Got a big kick out of that. Now with the C63 it is even easier to set these over sensitive car alarms off. Always fun to do that. May be juvenile but don't care, I'll usually pick fun over mature most days.

To every MBWorld member sensing 'smirk' from my posts, I sincerely apologize. Have I defended the CTS-V and my decision to buy one? Sure I have,... but not at the expense of denigrating the cars and decisions of others. Hey that's what car guys do,... that's just what we do. My ****'s faster than your ****. But smirk and/or genuine dis-respect to any member here is not something I set out to do. Again,... my apologies.

And Sebring,... the only one I've received a direct flame from has been DaGS. That's it. Maybe there are others, like yourself, who may agree with DaGS in varying degrees,... but nothing in the way of flaming. Maybe that's a maturity thing,... something DaGS maybe in the process of searching for.

I'll work on the 'contributing' thing. Thanks for the other perspective.

Thanks DaGS for the apology. Very much accepted.

I'll rachet down on any discussion of my car here, and will only offer my CTS-V experiences either when asked or if it's obvious those experiences are OT.

BTW,... I did not introduce the tire size thing. My observations on the tire size issue were in response to an earlier post. Just don't want you, or anyone else, to think that I just ran to my laptop, linked to this thread with an illogical urge to gloat about how the tires on my CTS-V are wider than your tires on your C63,... simply because I had nothing else to do with my life at that moment. That's not how it all came down. That I know,... and deep down, I think you do too. I did come away with learning a new stuff about tire sizes,... like it ain't necessarily universal and can be mis-leading if you don't know what to look for.

And you're right,... I got the point!

Oh well, let's not pass judgement on people, regardless of how ridiculous their behaviour is.
