Tire Rub

I know its been brought up before, but at the rate the C63 goes through rear tires Im sure theres much more info now. Im curious to see who is running what and whether they have rub or not.

After the whole 360 Forged debacle I finally have some wheels coming - not 360 Forged of course. Itll be something new as Ive only seen graphic renderings of them. I should be the first to have them.

Anyways I ordered 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 tires. Ive read on numerous occasions this will NOT rub. But I saw Mavericks post where it does rub (but with the Non-North American fender flares).

How many guys are running 275 (or 285) in the rear and do you have rub? Also, are you running OEM or aftermkt suspension and do u have the modified fender flares?

One more question while were on the subject - who makes the best wheel locks?

not sure if u saw mavericks thread but he is rubbiong with 275's and the flares. It sounds like a very slight rub so it might be the interior of the flares rubbing only - he is running after mkt wheels though

Possible, because the flares loop on the underside of the fender probably a 1/4inch or so, but even with that I think I will still have room unless I bottom out on a dip or jump a speed bump.

Without the flares tho 275s are a definite fit. no rub here

The offset of Maverick's wheels will have a say on whether his tires will rub or not, even if they're the same width as your new tires. The offset on his wheels will determine where the outer edge of his tires are placed relative to the position of the fenders, I believe.

maybe mavericks offset in the rears are too aggressive. I have 275's in the rears with a et 51 offset on a 19x9.5

Hi guys

I ordered the following:

Tyres: Front 235 /35
Rear 265 / 30 - but what was mistakenly delivered were 275 / 30

Offets: Front 45
Rear 48

HRE reckon they would have recommended different offsets for a 275, hence my rubbing issues (plus i have the fender flares which minutely reduces further the clearance between the tyre and that part of the fender, this is the ONLY place the tyre rubs) - but as i say, it is only very very minor and you have to corner aggressively to incur it.

With no fender flares and the correct offset for a 275 the outcome might have been different.

Maverick..offset in rear should be 50-52..those extra 2-4mm will take away rubbing.

Ugotmopped - do you mena the offsets should have been 50-52 in rear regardless of what tyre size i ordered??

Those offsets were recommended to me by HRE specifically for c63 with 265 tyre in mind and a 19 x 9 wheel

Have i been screwed by HRE?

i dont think HRE would get it wrong.....im not that good at figuring out offsets yet, but most 19" rear upgrades are 9.5 inches wide as opposed to the 9 inch wide wheel you chose....so maybe your offset is in fact correct and its the flare causing problems (???)

Well all i can say is that i reconfirmed the offests and everything with HRE and for a c63 with a 265 tyre i have exactly the right set up.

Its either the fender flare or its because i have a 275 tyre.
