just got my 19's on this weekend, perfect fit...its funny how only 20mm actually looks much wider.
I went to Toyo Proxes T1-R's...245/275 - I immediately noticed better grip, definitely not as soft as the Pirelli's. I never did burnouts but occasionally the traction control would come on with the Pzero's, doesnt seem as likely with the Toyo's.
And btw, if anyone is local to NJ/NYC, I have my stocks tires for sale...perfect condition

I'm joining the club here. I'm at 4700 miles and my rears have about had it. I have a nail in one tire too. I'd say I could get another 1000-1500 miles out of the tires, so I'm a bit torn whether to replace now or plug and wait a few months.
I've always have very good luck with BF Goodrich (Comp TAs used to perform well for me). They now have a hot looking tire that fits our rides (g-force TA). Has anyone used this tire? Any opinions from the picture?

Now that im getting a C63 I was wondering how tire wear/replacement works for rear wheel cars...I currently drive an Sti and since its a all wheel drive we have to replace all 4 at the same time, and all 4 tires have to be very close to the same tread depth throughout the life of the tires otherwise you can do serious damage to the differential/drivetrain.
Since the C63 is just rear wheel does it matter if the rears have no tread left and the fronts are almost full? Do you guys replace the rears and fronts at different intervals and is that fine for the drive train?

okay pass on the re960 bridgestones. they feel like two marshmallows on the rears. to get rid some of that you have to run insane high pressures (45cold) once they heat up you are close to the 51 max psi. Then once you get that sorted the 275's rub when the sidewalls fold like a cheap suit on high lateral loads.

im sorry if this has been discussed but has anyone tried a set of nitto invos? i was considering going this way and havent seen too many c63's with these tires. I have heard outstanding reviews from owners of other highline cars but none that specifically owned a c63.

If I let my car sit for a while the tires lose pressure. I have had to add air several times over the last year. Must be that porky 4000lbs making them go flat!
I think I'm gonna get 275 NT05's for the rear soon. Followed by 245's in the front. Has anyone worn out their fronts yet?

Nitto Invos did not fare well at all in a nine tire test in C&D August 2009. They placed near the bottom at eighth place.

Got Continental Extreme Contact DW tires yesterday. 235/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear. Hope they'll be good replacements.

Please post your thoughts and experiences with these new tires.
I and I'm sure others here would greatly appreciate the info. TIA.

so far so good with the toyo t1-r's
Similar driving style, same locations im noticing less slip on launches - these aren't hard launches, just aggressive on ramp driving from a stop. In situation where I slipped with the Pirellis i don't notice it anymore - credit the toyo's or the extra 20mm, but its a noticeable difference. Not to mention the pricing is much more favorable and has a much nicer looking sidewall and very aggressive tread pattern (seems trivial but sidewall looks and tread pattern syle are important to me)
Its also very grippy accelerating through corners...just my 2 cents, but Im happy

Got almost 6k out of the rears, but they're on they're way out (and looks like they have been for a while now, lol). I'm only planning on replacing the rears as the fronts still feel almost new. I'm thinking about going Eagle F1 A/S 265/35 as it seems to be a popular choice. Any owners comment on how they compare to the stock tires as far as grip/performance and longevity (I know there's a few comments a couple pages back)? Although I know this won't do anything for the upcoming winter, I'm assuming if I need to do any driving in light snow or something that I might be marginally better off with 2 A/S vs 4 summers.
About to pull the trigger.. Any other recommendations?

Dealer just called and advised that they are going to order me a new set of stock size tires but try Michelin rather then the Pirelli OEMs.
They can not return the Pirelli Nero M&S that do not fit correctly so they said that I can have those to sell on Craigslist/EBay; so I am getting 2 sets of tires for the price of one. I am not sure if the dealer is eating the cost of the 2nd set of tires or found a way to warranty them (I have the tire/rim warranty protection). If it is out of their pocket I will likely sell the tires and give the proceeds back to the dealer, it's not fair to them to have to eat $1.2k due to my screw-up.
Anyone want to buy some tires brand new tires?

C63 09' LSD traded for 2010 GT-R
10,500miles
Fronts are stock Pirellis with some life left.
Rears: Toyo's T1R's changed around 5k miles ago, look like they have at least another 5k+ treadwear to go.
Grip is excellent, I will be sticking with this tire choice.

Just switched out my rear oem Pirelli P-Zero's @ 5k mi. I was going to go with what I've had much success with the in past (Falken FK-452s), but from a recommendation of another Forum member + in doing some research, I decided to try the Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sports with are similarly priced to the Falken FK452s.
A couple things I've noticed in the past 2 days of driving on them (mostly on the highway)...
1. The a/s tread pattern is actually quite similar to the oem Pirelli P-Zero's.
2. I'm not sure if they need to "settle in" or not, but it seems like I'm getting a lot more "float" on the highway...no pulls to the right or left; just like a "floaty" feeling like when it's very windy, but even when there's little wind. I wonder if this is b/c of the two different tire types on the front vs. rear?
3. The Bridgestone RE760's are quiet for now and they seem to grip quite well, although I haven't really driven on them in the rain yet or done any hard launches.
4. They have a treadwear rating of 340 (vs. the Pirelli P-Zero's 220), so time will tell how many mi. they actually last on the rear of my beast.
I will update everyone on my experiences with the Bridgestone RE760 Sports in a few days, but for now, if anyone has any thoughts as to the "float" I'm feeling, please chime in. Thanks you.

The lesson was I am always going to have to check the tire specs carefully myself everytime.
