After the Kleemann package it just nails it as soon as you press down on the gas and does not let up till you do. I honestly can't tell any difference in upshifts but the tranny shifts lightening quick already.
+1 similar experience. Lots of power on tap at all times now.

Geez, am I the only one worried about my warranty? I inquired about tunes at my MB service center and they basically told me no go. If I find somewhere else that doesn't care I can go there instead right from now on? If so, anyone know any in the NJ/NY area?

Do you still get the throttle blip when downshifting in M mode?

New Kleemann Customer!

I just sent my ECU to Cory at Kleemann yesterday and just got confirmation that I will have it back tomorrow.
I resonate all the great comments about Cory and his service.
I will post impressions of the tune over the weekend.

If I ever need to go back to stock for whatever reason, I'm assuming they can go back to stock, and then tune it again at another date. Is there any cost for this? I'm assuming I don't pay 1500 again.

I think there is no charge, better check to make sure though.

I spoke to Cory at Kleemann yesterday and there is no charge for a reflash of the ECU. All you need to do is cover the shipping costs.
As far as my experience with the new Kleemann tune to date is: OUTSTANDING!
Money well spent.
The largest gains that I have felt are from 50-125 MPH where i felt the largest changes from the stock ECU.

No dyno after the ECU tune?

Somebody please dyno their car so we all could see the gains. $1500 for an ECU tune is a lot of money....whether one could afford it or not. I want to get my ECU tuned and right now $1500 seems to be the going rate (Veloce, Evosport & Kleeman). Veloce claims up to 35hp gains, Evosport 25-30hp and Kleeman? $1500 for only 25 hp gains is a bit much or maybe I'm just being too cheap Either way....could someone please share what their gains are?

There have been many dynos/results posted from Kleemann tunes....do a search or take my word that the majority of them are ~40-50whp in 4th gear at WOT, less for 5th gear WOT (~30s).

Martymar, who is your servicing dealer in the LA area?

I just talked to my SA last week about this and while he didn't say it would void the warranty he said "I wouldn't do it, why do you need more power?" ...and here I thought he was an enthusiast too.

Well even though Kleeman is less in hp and tq gain most dealers will authorize mods that are done by Kleeman and won't void your warrenty. I've asked various dealers and most of them wil accept the warrenty if you get it done by renntech or kleeman

Don't know about Veloce, but evosport/Powerchip is listed at ~$2k, or 33% more than Kleemann.

My ECU is on its way to Kleemann in denmark now, im really excited to try it out!! Suprised how easy it was to remove it. They showed me a dyno with 542 hp but that was with headers, anyone know how much the headers does?

hey! I only did the ECU, 1495€ + tax, total 1917€. the headers would cost 2495 + tax so it felt a little to much. It only takes one day for them and the ecu was real easy to remove. I can tell u the result later . Still wondering the HP increase on the headers but cant find it in the search.

I also just received a quote from Kleemann Denmark.

DKK34.000 or around USD6.400 ex. VAT for the K2 package installed.

The ECU tune is USD2.000 alone which is 25% above the US price. Strange considering that Kleemann originates from Denmark.

I will of course argue the point

Yes the u.s prices sure is sweet. If the danish kleeman would throw in an extra 25% power then it would be ok

I was told by Kleeman the headers give you an approximate increase of 35HP at the crank.

From the K official website

http://www.kleemann.dk/Performance/Engines/AMG63.aspx#

63-K1: A sophisticated new ECU software. Up to 535 HP and 650 Nm (481 lb-ft) of torque.

63-K2: K1 + a set of high flow exhaust manifolds and downpipes with steel sport catalysts. Up to 560 HP and 700Nm (519lb-ft) of torque.

ok correct me if im wrong, so does everyone actually getting the official figure after the tunning? or others are talking about actual HP on the wheel?

I am under the impression that all tuners advertise power at the crank just like manufacturers do with stock vehicles(Well maybe except late 60's 427 motors with 300Hp?). Given that different drivetrains surrender different %'s of power this would be the only accurate measurement.
