I sent my ECU to Kleemann..

Feel a little nervious because I didn't pay extra for package insurance but anyway the ECU is heading to Cory via Fedex. Hope to notice some gains after Kleemann tuning...

Why skip out on 15 - 20 bucks insurance on a 1500 dollar item.
Either way, enjoy it.

Did you remove the ECU yourself?
Yes, very simple, the ECU is located under the hood, on the passenger side, at the base of the windshield. You'll see a black plastic housing, which is the housing for the cabin air filter. There are 3 black metal clips that hold the filter housing onto the "cowl" of the car- just unclip these, remove the housing, and the ECU is directly underneath- the silver box, with 2 plugs on top. Just disconnect the two plugs, and pull straight up- it's held in the car only by rubber grommets.

Why skip out on 15 - 20 bucks insurance on a 1500 dollar item.
Either way, enjoy it.
The Insurance was $35 for the first $100 and $1.55 for any additional $100 in value, from Puerto Rico to Colorado...

Personally, I would have opted to get it. Don't sweat it though; I’m sure everything will be fine, congrats btw! Don’t forget to post how big of a difference you feel when you first drive it.

You'll feel the gains - AMG left a lot on the table with the C63. I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but: HAVE FUN OUT THERE!!

Yes, I got the ECU back from Kleeman today and put it back in...WOW!! I haven't even pushed it really hard yet but I can definitely feel more power. It was totally worth the $1500. All I can say is that the difference is noticeable. I had it dyno'ed prior to doing this and feel no need to dyno it again.

I now have access to the true power for which this engine was built. Very happy.

Great to hear that it's a noticeable increase in power - which fits with what everyone's observed with the C63 ECU tunes.

Curious though, why not dyno again to see exactly how much rwhp/rwtq you picked up? Is it the cost and/or hassle of visiting the dyno shop?

It is the hassle of doing it again. I already feel the increase and know what others have dyno'd after Kleeman tune, so I am just assuming my gain is similar.

As for shifting lag, I have not noticed a change but haven't really paid attention to it yet. What I have noticed is that there is no lack of power when I accelerate as I sometimes felt when in sport mode until it downshifted. It seems the TQ band is wider.

Yes, my ECU arrive the next day, sorry for not replying before. I test my car yesterday, the car is more responsive and powerful, definitely one of the best mod available for the c63. Thanks to Cory, very helpful

Well, I just sent mine in to Cory as well, let's see how it goes!

Btw, how did you guys drive during the adaptation period? Warm up the oil and then hammer it a lot?

Yes, warm oil + hammer it in S mode. I was told that you can drive normally in C mode, and the adaptive learning is dependent on which mode you're driving in. It was on one of my adaptive learning break-in period with the KLEEMANN tune that I got nailed speeding So I was in C-mode for a while.

I had a very noticable hesitation when slamming the gas from a 40 or 50 mph roll. Almost felt like the car was taking a deep breath before taking off.
After the Kleemann package it just nails it as soon as you press down on the gas and does not let up till you do. I honestly can't tell any difference in upshifts but the tranny shifts lightening quick already.
