Raced an E55 in a C63
Well the result was that the C63 won, despite the bigger power of the E55. Why?
Cornering within Tokyo the C63 is evil.
Blew past the E55 and he was up for it and he tried to push it within city limits, but he was dominated in any corners.
The C63 sticks to corners like no other Benz, really...

2005 E55 ///AMG
E55 is about straight line acceleration. Try racing one from a dig in a straight line and I think the result will be different.
Add twisties and the E55 is gonna get smoked for sure.

it's funny how you guys think that a e55 is faster the a c63. Haha. Well if u go to a drag strip yes it is faster. BUT if u in the street sorry it's not the same story the c63 all day everyday

Everyone knows that MB sandbagged the numbers on the E55... check one of the other sites, who make their living on researching and driving cars... (i.e. Motor Trend, AutoWeek, Edmunds, Road and Track, etc.) On these sites, they have the E55 as quick as 4.1 in 0-60. Anyway, the bottom line is that both of these cars are BEASTS and it comes down to personal preference...

When you had 12k miles I was running bald tires and lost both times from a dig. On the rolling runs I was a car in front. When you had 3500 miles you did keep losing. I have lost to your car and you have lost to mine, but if both cars are healthy with 100% good tires the E55 is the faster car. I know it's hard for you to understand that but it is what it is.

In the end, I'd say it's a driver's race between the two, assuming stock vs. stock, or modded vs. modded - too close to really call definitively one way or another.

And the mags tested the C63 as quick as 3.9 for the 0-60 mph run... which stirred up a lot of "no way, can't be" controversy at the time.

I would like to race any other c63 besides yours just for the fact that I don't believe you will race me with a stock ECU. Last time we raced your car was shifting really hard downwards which didn't seem stock to me.

Whether E55 is faster or the C63 faster... who cares. As long it's an AMG, it's all good

This qoute says it all, the C63 tranny is completely different than your E55, those hard downshifts are normal for any C63, that is why I personally enjoy driving my car, the downshifts are loud, thunderous booms that turns everyones head in near vicinity, so take him up on his offer and dont be embarassed whoever loses, because both cars are unique in their own ways.
