canadian members.

got a call from a benz dealer, who offered me a white base model c63 with the white or grey interior with 5000km's. She's gonna check the price and get back to me monday.

now i checked mercedes.ca

base c63 is 63 500$

how much of a discount should i get for the mileage/demo factor?
and i'm not entirely sure it's an 08 or 09 didn't ask.

If it was a demo it was probably 5000km of hard, beat the **** out of it driving. I'd think no more than $56k. I probably wouldn't keep it past the warranty period either.

not worried about the demo part, this car was made to take a beating. plus it has a warranty if anything happens. I always break my cars in really hard, never had a problem.

you think they'll bite at 56? i'm willing to go 56 000$ i hope they are too.
is the stock sound system without navi any good?

What will they think of next??

How about making the seats in tartan, to pay homage to the Bay City Rollers?

Did you test drive the new M3 also? Maybe you can get a good price on that who knows? I'd rather take an M3 before the IS-F, that is, if you cant get the C63.

Maybe CDN Rockies can chime in as he only just recently traded in his IS F for a Merc.
Umm...I don't know where you got the idea that I gave up the F. When I said that I crossed over to the dark side...it was for our new ML 320 Bluetec.

The F is a good balance between the C63 and the M3. The C63 is obviously the fastest in a straight line while the M3 is probably the fastest around a track. I do know that the C63 and F are far less common than the M3 if that matters.

As several others have already mentioned, the F is far ahead in terms of technology and creature comforts. It really just comes down to personal preference. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these super sedans. I had actually tried to pick up a C63 twice, but neither dealer could come anywhere near the delivery date that I needed.

If you're seeking even more performance than the stock cars offer, the C will be the better pick. With multiple tuners that can push it over 500 hp, the aftermarket is way better for the Benz.

No regrets as I've been very happy with my F so far....and yes, we also love our new MB.

$1000 discount from what? I won't take anything unless it is close or below invoice, and make sure your deposit is refundable.

You need to found out its invoice price in Canadian dollar to see what is their bottom line. I got my data from Edmonds.com for US pricing but don't know about Canada. Also, you are buying a MY2009 car when MY2010 is coming out VERY soon, which means you need to think about this as a low millage used car and not a new car.

You know, I bet if someone brought in a C63 with 800km for trade/sale, the dealer will discount the value a hell of a lot more than $1000! Are they still going to charge freight/PDI/guzzler tax on it? Are they classifying it as used?

I'd rather just get a new one for that discount. But you need a car soon so I'd consider it only if it's not in stock anywhere else.

Yea, does anyone have a CCC/APA report on the C63? Not that it really matters since you're not likely to get much of a discount, but I'm curious as to what the MSRP markup is.

I am not sure how good the data from Edmunds is, but here is what I got for C63's MSRP vs invoice in Virginia.

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/merc...&y=21&action=1

Interesting thing is that once I mention I know the C63 invoice pricing when I order my 2010 C63, my dealer didn't event bother to argue and just give me the invoice price for it. I think I do get a decent deal, but will have to wait until the MY2010 data is out.

Hope this helps.

hey guys, there is a 2000$ green levy tax, is that the "gas guzzler" tax?

if so, i found an article saying that the sticker price of the car should include this tax.

When are the 2010 models hitting showrooms?

i need to arm myself with a few points to make sure i get a better price.

she mentioned that they delivered 2 other c63's this month with no negotiation, but those were ordered cars, not in stock.

and how many c63's in canada?

I think 2010 cars are starting in July and arriving in september. I doubt you will see anything in the showroom until November/December.

450 clicks is about 280 miles, now take an average of 15 mpg on a 17.4 gal tank (ignoring the 2.1 gal reserve) which is 261 miles. 261/280 is about 93% or 6.5 days of driving, which all means you will have to fill up at least every 6 days.
