Cool Kleemann Tuning

When Kleemann states "UP TO 535hp" for their K1 package, what gains can we realistically expect?

Wondering if I should send my ECU or not but the "up to" phrase is bugging me.

When we use the 'up to' phrase it generally has to do with each particular car's state of tune, atmospheric conditions, as well as available fuel used, etc.

At least that is what we mean when we use the term.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

IHMO, the "up to" phrase should not bug you, rather, benefit you. They are not claiming rediculous, unfounded gains. Each car is a little different. Whether it ends up 525 or 535, what's the difference...

If you're looking for absolute hp gains, go Renntech or MHP, as they seem to have the top 1/4 times.

KLEEMANN offers "comfort power" in their tune. It's not going to pull every last bit of HP out of your car, but it's not going to sacrifice engine life either.

+1 Runs a little rich but you don't have to worry about detonation if someone puts a tank of 87 octane in it by mistake. Street performance is greatly improved (throttle response) and track times are pretty fair also.

If I were to go with the K2 Package, would the exaust manifold and downpips void my warrenty?

I know that not all dealerships will honor the warrenty with the ECU either but they would never know if I flashed it, which is why I am not too worried about that. But the manifold and downpipes do make me nervous, losing the warrenty is not something I can afford to do...

Dealer discretion but the headers will certainly get noticed!

It all depends on the dealer. The manifolds and exhaust actually help the engine, & combined with the tune, make for a more reliable engine IMO. My dealer had no problems at all with the mods.

It's not likely the engine will blow up with these mods. Outside of anything directly related to the mods, the warranty still applies.

FWIW, I would not have done these mods if my dealer was not going to honor the warranty. Some people get lucky with their dealers, others don't. It's too bad, because IMO, these mods are really an improvement to both performance and reliability.

Great read when considering any mods on a vehicle: Here's the Wikki quick read: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuson-Moss_Warranty_Act

Pretty much, they have to PROVE anything you did to the car with aftermarket parts damaged the car, but can only void that component of the car, not the whole car.
