For some reason, this guy in an X5 tried to race me yesterday. I repeat TRIED. He obviously had no clue what he was getting into. Needless to say, I destroyed him but I almost smacked right into his rear bumper before passing. When I kicked down for the 1st time (only had it 2 weeks) I was astonished by how fast I caught him and started to fly. I had to make a quick shift to the left and barely avoided his bumper.

So, a word of advice to you new C63 drivers. Get used to the kick-down because it's f*****g fast.

LOL, that's why I prefer to be in a clear lane when I hit the go pedal on the beast!

Why even attempt to race something like that. Luckily you made it out okay. Racing SUVs can only lead to trouble.

so i was chasing it for fun

and suddenly this G35 cuts in front of the GT3RS
and SLAMS his breaks

freaking the GT3RS stopped fast enough

and I was lucky i stopped fast enough i was inches away from smoking a GT3RS in the back

freaking we chased that G35 around richmond and in the end we got out of the car and *****ed at this 20 yr old asian kid ( well i cant call him a kid as he is older than me )

Perhaps the X5 wanted to see how fast the C63 is?

Forgive the ignorance... but my c63 is officially my wife's daily driver now she found it "cute" and never returned the keys to me. I still get to drive it on weekends lol.

I never finished reading the manual. So, what is kick down? I never had an automatic car before so I'm assuming its when you down shift? How do engage this do I just literally kick down the accelerator?

Push the accelerator past the resistance point = FLOOR IT HARD!

^^^ Thanks for the tip.

In the few times i get to drive the C63 I'm actually surprised how responsive it is on S mode. A little tap and it immediately downshifts.

you can also squeeze and hold left paddle down (or push and hold stick to left) to downshift to lowest safe gear. I think it's slightly faster than just mashing the gas - or at least you can pinpoint the timing of the shift better with your throttle.

I'm going to try that today... does it automatically up shift when it hits redline?

That's the type of response I would have figured from a non C63 owner.

by resistance point, do you mean when you press the pedal all the way, but then it feels like there's a button under the pedal and it'll give a little more? i've always wondered what that was.
