any recs for rear tires to last longer than 3500 miles? these stock tires bite; no burnouts just driving in s mode exclusively and not too aggressively and after 3500 miles are near bald; wtf? any recs are greatly appreciated

Yeah stock tires blow. I got about 4K miles out of my rears. I put a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S on for about $800 installed at Discount Tire. I'm close to needing rears. They look like they're gonna get about 8K out of the rears.

I put Nitto's on the rear with HRE's. Went wider 275 rear. Mileage is better. I got 7K out of the Pirelli's and have another 7K on the Nitto's with about 1/2 tread left.

Drive in Comfort more. Staying out of 1st when zipping around town does wonders for the rear.

How in the hell did you improve the gas mileage? are these tires much much lighter? Typically a wider tire is heavier plus it has more friction but the only thing I can think of is going wider perhaps made your top gear taller thus reducing the rpms(in other words, more speed with lesser rpms equals better gas mileage)

Improving mileage as in tire life . . . not gas mileage.

I have no idea why so many European cars some with the Pirelli PZero's. They don't last or give decent performance in any weather condition. Even on a track they aren't that great. My Audi has them as well. I have a set of Nitto NT555's and I'm getting good milage out of them. They are fairly decent on the tracks I go to. My other cars I put on Kumho Ecsta SPT's and they've always been goood. I rip through front tires way more then rears though, so I'm always buying 2 tires at a time.
