Any improvement in reliability with the new C-class and C63 AMG?

I am pretty much sold on the C63 after test driving the car twice. My only reservation is regarding MB's reliability issues. I've heard that there were some improvements in the reliability in the newer models, but I don't know which models this applies to and to what extent. I would like to get some feedback on the owners of C63 and how their experience owning this car was/is from a reliability standpoint.

Mine's been perfect. Me E55 had been perfect. Only in for oil changes. Knock on wood.

No problems, 2,800 miles here except for a rear squeaking problem, haven't had the time to bring it in yet. If I did, I have warranty so I'm not worrying about it. :o

List of my problems.

1. Check Engine light going off 2 days after owning the car. Solution was a replace defective purge valve in gas tank causing emissions fault.
2. Rear Pirelli Tires are GARBAGE. Finally on my 3rd set of rears but completely changed over to Michelin PS2's
3. Car tends to burn oil

However....None of these things are major mechanical defects....If you want to hear some horror stories go over to M3post.com and in the general forum you will see some truly nightmare stories from M3 owners. Transmissions, Software, Differential, Cars going into Limp Mode, you name it.

Every M5 owner I know has experienced their cars going into limp mode after our car meet/highway runs, whereas our AMG motors just keep going and going.

At about 1000 miles I had a check engine warning with extremely rough idle. Dealer replaced a cam sensor and I was back in it within 24 hours. 6000 miles on it now and other than having to add 2 quarts of oil no other problems.

I didn't noticed your sn was lyotomachida lulz He will wreck the careless Shogun.

it consumes more oils than other cars. I haven't had that minor issue yet, but i hear after a certain miles it will eat less oil. This is just an assumption i have come up with when searching through previous threads about oil consumption. I'd say it is fairly normal for these engine to consume oil.

Yes
before this gets too out of hand...it is common for high performance motors to consume a small amount of oil...adding 2 qts (when the 6.2L probably takes a ton) in 6000 miles is not a big deal.

5800 miles no issues at all wih the car, use it as a daily driver. As others have stated the OEM tires need to be changed at 4k or less from what most have shared, mine were down to 1 bar at 3800k

My problems so far (within 8,000 miles). Many are minor but some are not so minor.

1) Bad purge valve
2) Solenoid inside the cabin replaced (making strange noise when reaching a stop)
3) Rubber moulding around the plastic panel that funnels the air into the intake was disintegrating
4) Check engine light
5) Delaminating front tires (caused radial pull)
6) Alignment required
7) Mystery transmission fluid on bottom of bell housing between engine and tranny
8) Rear tires are complete junk (as everyone knows)
9) Rear bumper cover warping
10) Oil consumption (not a defect per se)

13,000 miles and no issues other than the crappy Pirelli's. Replaced w/ Goodyear Eagle F1's which are much better.

Every performance car that I have owned consumes oil. Both my M3's and even my 330i PP required at least a couple quarts between oil changes.

bluetooth unit dysfunction

driver's side rear suspension squeaks

oil consumption isnt a problem cuz its common in all high performance engines.

rear tires wears too quick.
