'09 at $10k off now, or wait for '10?

Looking for guidance - would you buy an '09 now at $10,000+ off of msrp, or wait for the '10 at somewhere around invoice+ ?

Thanks.

I'm on the fence as well. Though @ invoice with 19s sound good too.

Invoice pricing for the '10 will still be about $9k more than what you can get a left-over '09 for right now though...tough decision, but at $13k off MSRP (> $5k UNDER invoice pricing), I found a new 2009 C63 AMG too hard to pass up.

To buy 19s with sensors from the dealer and add on tires at Discount Tire or Tire Rack, it will still run around $5500, right?

If you can find what you want in a 09 get that, but if not, then special order a 2010.

I don't think you'll ever get a better deal than right now for a C63. 2009 or 2010. Just my $.02, but who needs a rear view camera, folding side mirrors?, keyless go, and 19s. Sure, nice to have, but I think the 10K or more saved would more than make up for the difference with the right mods...

So does this 7,500 "rebate" extend through August? I know it's near the end of July, so just trying to figure if the "end of the month" is going to work in my favor, or should I wait till next month? Who's going to blink first?

2010 would be the right choice in my honest opinion. Unfortunately us 08, 09 buyers have been screwed on the options compared to the 2010s but u'll be able to get the 2010s for about the same price so why buy an 09?

see i think one could get a 2010 for close to the same discount in a few months. i would almost bet my next paycheck come next summer they will be discounting the 2010 just like these 09s now. but i dont have a crystal ball, just a theroy. im waiting till this coming march then aggressively hunting for a good deal on a 10.

Then you might as well wait for the facelift in 2011. Hell, why not wait until the new C class comes out in 2013? haha, there will always be something new/better coming out. That is how they get people to buy new cars...

+1 to that!! How can you do better than 0 to 60 stock at a hair over 4 seconds, take the discounts now offered for some good mods, and you should have 3.6 to 3.8 no problem!!

That being said, I did order a 2010 as there are no deals to be had in Canada like those in the US. Importing is very tempting.

Why is everyone supposedely discounting the C63 so heavily? I thought it was just to move out the '09 inventory making room for the arrival of the 2010's.

If the above is the case then I don't understand why 2010 models would be discounted just as much as 2009 models. Wouldn't the 2010 models go for MSRP at the very least?

oh im not waiting on the 2010 because i like it better... im just not in a fiscal position to get an 09 or else i would take advantage of the great deals right now! i have my mind made up to save a certain amount cash before i buy. then i have to hope for some good deals in 10 like are going on now or else i might be a little upset for waiting.

of course there will always be better things on the next year models but i think you find what you like when you have the money and get it and dont worry about the next model. only car nerds like us know the difference between 08s and 10s anyway!

But do you think they will discount 2010's aggressively? If you miss out on the 2009 inventory then wouldn't you have to pay regular price on a 2010?

I still have 4 months left on my existing lease and I'm afraid it will be hard to find any 2009's left in November. I am hoping I don't get stuck paying regular price on a 2010 by that time

If you can get low interest financing, that's the way to go. Why put more money down in a seriously depreciating asset? You'll have to sell the car to get it back. I'd just stick the down money in the bank or maybe during the current environment, under the mattress might be the best option.

I'm only buying one now because of the steep discounts. As I've said before, if you have ever wanted to own an AMG, you'll probably never see a better time to get a new one.

I just placed an order for a 2010 C63 more or less full option and got -14% off the MSRP. Granted I am in Europe where we pay more for our C63s however, the deal I struck was identical to the deal I was negotiating on a 2009 model 3 months ago.

My car will be built end August and delivered end September.

Wow Kema, that's a great deal for a custom 2010 order.

No way anyone will get a new MY 2010 C63 AMG for $5k+ BELOW invoice (~ $13k OFF MSRP). Now, is it possible that MB may offer a similar $7.5K mfgr-dealer rebate in the Summer, 2010, but I'm sure that will depend on the economic conditions and how well (or not) the C63's are selling at that time...so, who knows?

Sure, I will miss my Keyless Go (my '07 BMW 335i has the keyless entry/push button start) and Folding Mirrors (my '07 BMW 335i has it), and I probably would like the backup camera for safety (we have ALL those options on our '08 GL450), but life is full of uncertainty...passing up a $67k-$70k MB C63 AMG for $55k delivered to my door is very difficult to do right now, imho.

Nice, but something tells me that those deals are different in Europe since you do pay much more for the car to begin with.

benyl, based on the msrp prices and the Canadian dollar rate, I find the c63 prices to be very competitive in Canada. In fact they were cheaper than the US prices (before these crazy discounts)! Even with the discounts the OTR prices aren't really that much cheaper that buying in Canada. This is for similarly equipped cars.

Or are my calculations wrong?

How much do you figure you can save by importing?
