Would you expect cars at the next level not to want to race you because you're not in their league?
Part of the fun is just being able to push a fast car to it's limits. I've run a GT-R knowing that I would lose, but we both had a blast and enjoyed what our cars could do. As long as everyone is safe and having fun what does it matter?

Heaver? not according to these stats:
C63 = Curb Weight 3649
GT500 = curb weight 3,920

The test curb weight for the C63 in road tests were around 4000 lbs.

Wierd comments about the solid rear axle![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
Nothing plants like a solid rear axle. It's the irs that has a hard time putting it down without wheel hop, or breakage.
And I'd be careful about what you mark off the list. many times surprises lurk in unusual places.
I have a low 12 second truck that would like to have a crack at that list.

I didn't realize we had a bunch of street racers who like to engage in contests of speed on badly paved surfaces.
I have some experience with a high horsepower solid axle car, and aside from overpowering the drag radials in first gear and sometimes second, the solid rear axle plants the power extremely well in almost every instance.

I'll take my IRS Supra pushing enough power to run the USS Eisenhower over a Shelby Super Snake any day.

2nd that, I'll play around with just about anything. Usually I win so its fun for me
I'd watch out for those EVOs and WRXs tho. Around here, many are tuned and ready to go I've seen plenty a 63/55 get taken out by civic hatch backs with primer and different color doors. It happens, so you can't discriminate. Its all in good fun, just be safe + smart about it so you can continue to enjoy it.

Oh, so you'd take a heavily modified 790rwhp supra over a stock supersnake? Wow, thats a spectacular comparison. Why is it that most of the fastest supras have 9 inch ford rears?
with the pathetic torque curve that most supras have, you wouldn't get the eisenhower to move a millimeter.

This weekend I was driving - minding my own business. Out of nowhere a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8 pulls alongside, revs his engine and pulls off. I am thinking to myself, "OK, this thing has 425HP, 450FT LBS TORQUE... let's run". And so we ran... it wasn't even close.
That got me thinking that there are certain cars that are just a waste of time and will not provide good competition. And, of course, there are cars that will... so I thought it'd be fun to compile a list
.
Based on my experiences... these are cars that have started something with me but, upon running them, I will not waste my time in the future.![devil](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/devil.gif)
On the flip side, here are a couple cars that provided good runs. This list is short because up here in Seattle it is hard to engage - people are weak up here.

- Porsche 911 Carrera
- 1967 Camaro w/ Corvette engine
- RS4
- M3
- M5
- Corvette
- Mustang GT500
- Any SRT-8 Sedan
You should still watch out for these following on your list.
[*]Mustang GT[*]WRX STI[*]Evo[*]SRT-4[*]S4(Bi-turbo)
Last sunday when I was at the track a mustang GT(modded) was running well into the 11's. There was also a STI running 11.50's@120
We all know how fast evo's can go when modded. Stock turbo ones have gone high 11's.
I have seen multiple SRT-4's in person trap mid 120's with larger turbo's again running 11's. The bi-turbo S4's are nothing to sneeze again when modded. My friend is sporting one running 11.7@118.

This post is rather funny. I find it funny how you take some of the cars not worth racing after one interaction.

Guess the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover" rings true!
So instead of discriminating - I guess I'll just race on!

Then the M5 walks the C63 after that...

From a technical/mechanical perspective, what is it about the M5 that allows it to walk away at high speeds?

Just remember who was driving what car. Capt Slow the Audi (not the best drag racer in the world) Hamster in the M3 (good but not as good as Clarkson and I think the M3 was a stick too) and the best driver was in the C63 Jezza. The 63 should have won but the margin had something to do with drivers also.
