Forgot about the RS4. Add it to the list.

Would you expect cars at the next level not to want to race you because you're not in their league?

Part of the fun is just being able to push a fast car to it's limits. I've run a GT-R knowing that I would lose, but we both had a blast and enjoyed what our cars could do. As long as everyone is safe and having fun what does it matter?

Wierd comments about the solid rear axle
Nothing plants like a solid rear axle. It's the irs that has a hard time putting it down without wheel hop, or breakage.

And I'd be careful about what you mark off the list. many times surprises lurk in unusual places.
I have a low 12 second truck that would like to have a crack at that list.

You live in Lyndhurst dude, don't even try to tell me there's a well paved road within 50 nautical miles of your crib.

I'll take my IRS Supra pushing enough power to run the USS Eisenhower over a Shelby Super Snake any day.

2nd that, I'll play around with just about anything. Usually I win so its fun for me I'd watch out for those EVOs and WRXs tho. Around here, many are tuned and ready to go I've seen plenty a 63/55 get taken out by civic hatch backs with primer and different color doors. It happens, so you can't discriminate. Its all in good fun, just be safe + smart about it so you can continue to enjoy it.

Where in Bergen county do you live? I was mainly raised in the NYC area but did live "down the street" from Giants stadium, just a walk away in Moonachie.

Um, since I don't race on the street, I don't really care, but there is fresh pavement on route 3 and route 80. Furthermore, I hardly have traction problems over 60mph, so putting power down on the highway is a non-issue. Furthermore, even with imperfect pavement, I rarely if ever have problems with the solid axle. The only time it really shows its flaws is around bumpy turns.

Oh, so you'd take a heavily modified 790rwhp supra over a stock supersnake? Wow, thats a spectacular comparison. Why is it that most of the fastest supras have 9 inch ford rears?

with the pathetic torque curve that most supras have, you wouldn't get the eisenhower to move a millimeter.

That got me thinking that there are certain cars that are just a waste of time and will not provide good competition. And, of course, there are cars that will... so I thought it'd be fun to compile a list .

Based on my experiences... these are cars that have started something with me but, upon running them, I will not waste my time in the future.
Clearly, these are obvious kills for the C63, and that is my point. What cars will you not race even if they try? Because after each of the above kills I felt bad for doing it even though I did not instigate.

On the flip side, here are a couple cars that provided good runs. This list is short because up here in Seattle it is hard to engage - people are weak up here.
    • Porsche 911 Carrera
    • 1967 Camaro w/ Corvette engine
    • RS4
And here are a few cars on my list that I would like to run:
    • M3
    • M5
    • Corvette
    • Mustang GT500
    • Any SRT-8 Sedan
    Thoughts?
This post is rather funny. I find it funny how you take some of the cars not worth racing after one interaction.

You should still watch out for these following on your list.
    [*]Mustang GT[*]WRX STI[*]Evo[*]SRT-4[*]S4(Bi-turbo)

Last sunday when I was at the track a mustang GT(modded) was running well into the 11's. There was also a STI running 11.50's@120

We all know how fast evo's can go when modded. Stock turbo ones have gone high 11's.

I have seen multiple SRT-4's in person trap mid 120's with larger turbo's again running 11's. The bi-turbo S4's are nothing to sneeze again when modded. My friend is sporting one running 11.7@118.

...Yeah, but because of the aero (or lack thereof), after 110mph, you need something like 2000hp to keep pushing it along...

nope. the word wouldn't be destroy. sorry. I own a C63 now and my previous car was an RS4. I've done pulls against C63 and Procede 335i, and in all honestly, the RS4 is slower once you're talking 180km/h +
and even then, I wouldn't use the word "destroy"

Thanks Ubergeist, and others. I guess one never really knows what they are up against until in the moment of truth.

Guess the old saying "don't judge a book by its cover" rings true!

So instead of discriminating - I guess I'll just race on! If someone steps up against the C63 and gets beat badly, so be it. No hard feelings since it's all in good fun.

    Cheers!

No way. I am dying to race an M5 - win or lose. Aren't the cars close enough for it to be a driver's race? If so, I like my chances.

Do tell more about your experience... curious.

Stock for stock, it will be close up to around 100-110mph.
Then the M5 walks the C63 after that...

Why is that? The trap speeds do not appear to be much different between the two in the 1/4 mile.

From a technical/mechanical perspective, what is it about the M5 that allows it to walk away at high speeds?

Probably gearing and HP at higher speeds. At the end of the 1/4mi., both cars are going 113-116mph, but after that is a whole new ballgame. Although the M5 weighs more, it's 500HP vs. 451HP (stock for stock) + gearing allows it to keep pulling hard up top.

Just remember who was driving what car. Capt Slow the Audi (not the best drag racer in the world) Hamster in the M3 (good but not as good as Clarkson and I think the M3 was a stick too) and the best driver was in the C63 Jezza. The 63 should have won but the margin had something to do with drivers also.
