I am going back to 265 in the back. I have 275 now, they look awesome, very beefy, but I have some problems with hydroplaning.

Just a quick question.. How often do you need to replace the rear tires? I even heard about only 8,000 miles.. That sounds crazy to me
Any reason for that? What about the car with PP? if I don't track often at all. Thanks

I cannot speak authoritatively about your guys C63's but one arguement for ditching the P-Zero's on the front is to improve the handling. When I first got my C32 I was not happy with the feel of the steering and the unsettled oscilations that I felt when applying hard steering inputs to the car. My older C36 had none of that and I went on a witchunt to try to improve this. After loads of research, I ended up fixing the problem by accident.
I had toasted the rear Pirelli P-Zeros and installed 4 Bridgestone Re050 PP's on the old gal. Suddenly, the handling improved markedly to nearly that of my older car. I was very, very pleased with this. I had Bridgestone Fusions ZRi's on the old C36 and apparently they have some of the same carcass traits as the much more costly Re050's. Just something to consider if you also find the steering in the C63 to be "Underdamped".

If you go with a set of Kumho Ecsta SPT or Yokohama S.drive, you can afford to change all four at a time. Can't comment on the Yokos. Originally Posted by eagle_lex

Heard the Kumhos wear about 10% faster on the track, however, best bang for the buck!
We put the 19" Kumhos on our 05 Infiniti G35 and they're doing great, two years on them now and will be installing a set of 4 for our next C63 AMG tire change. Maybe someone will want our front stock used tires.
Bottom line, we're not advocates of mixing new and old tires.
Good luck with your decision.

Actually, these numbers give you general sizing ideas. I am surprized why we rely on these numbers soooo much.
I ALWAYS check the individual tire model specs that are available from the manufacturer when I change brands or sizes.
You will find that some 265/35s match quite closely to the p-zero 255/35 even though it makes sense that 265/35 would be a bit taller.
Check overall diameter and revolutions per mile for better comparisons.
